Is really lackluster,
Consume takes a bit much to cast off, to where it feels like it needs some chance to instant proc to increase damage output in leveling / solo content.
I felt like I needed to swap to havoc to just not feel like pulling my hair out.
Some type of instant proc that isn’t resource gen or running around to get soul fragments to fill up the 50 needed for morph.

I literally gave up questing when leveling. Had tried it in the beta, and it didn’t get any better when pre-patch launched. I just literally queued for Time walking dungeons and AFK’d while in the queue. It’s the most garbage leveling experience I’ve ever experienced in WoW.

I’m leveling a new DDH and it’s much different than any other class I’ve leveled. I use Heirlooms of course and even though all the leather armor does convert it Intel the weapons don’t. I’ve read people just get the Intel weapons and keep them until another one with Intel shows up. I don’t get this. When leveling, Stats mean nothing. It’s all Ilvl so go ahead and use Heirloom weapons without Intel. They will hit much harder than any low ilvl weapon that uses Intel.
There are issues with the leveling and talents. I can get Meta, at I think level 15, but you cant use it until level 20 when the talent becomes available. Other classes have their power/level progress as you level up in a logical order. There is a progression there which works and makes logical sense. Not so with the DDH. Leveling seems totally disconnected from the talent trees making the experience rather flat. I’m not sure how to fix this without a rework.
There is no low level AOE. When I go after something, it’s not the “Big Bad” that pauses me, it’s the group of weak little MOB’s that any other class can wipe out in a few AOE swings that can kill me. I have to take them on one by one and while they are pretty weak, you are still getting beat on while trying to kill each individual MOB one by one. These weak little MOB’s should be fodder but not for a DDH.
Soul Frags have 2 issues for me. The first is they don’t heal worth a squat. I understand with the number of Frags you collect, if you made them heal as much as a Havoc orb you would be invincible but this 1% is way too low. I would start with 5% and adjust from there.
Also, unlike my Havoc, I have to practically jump up and down of the Frags to pick them up. Okay, it’s not THAT bad but they need to widen the pick up range. I’m not talking a zone away but They should make it the same as Havoc where if you’re close they get snatched. Considering this mechanic is what powers almost everything we do, getting the pickup distance right is major.
All in all though, I like the Spec. It has potential but needs a few adjustments to it’s leveling path and the self-healing is … does picking up Frags really heal you? I never noticed and that’s the problem even when I have to stand on them to collect them. I guess the DDh is a work in progress. Lets hope it get better by the time Midnight is released.

Yep I have the same issues.
Trying to do a world quest. Hyenas in azure span. 3 mobs pulled and dead or needing to run away.
Eye beam would need heavy leech for sustain or some heavy sustain mechanic buff, heal on orb consume buff.
I also thought about having a minion like arcane does. We get a summoned void blue berry that can tank or be exploded for aoe dmg.
Otherwise an aoe like cleave. Scythe / void cleave would be handy.

1-40 was awful. It was boring and once you hit about 30 you have to actually start kiting if you pull more than a few since you have minimal defensive options, no emergency button to save you, and no aoe outside of void ray because lets face it, you’re not casting a collapsing start at 30 in open world. I can count on 1 hand the amount of times I was able to cast it from the time I unlocked it until 70. Everything just dies before you can get it off or you drop out of meta before you can. So you’re only real aoe ability is void ray and between 1-30, it takes a while to build up enough fury to cast it.
That said, I think it was somewhere between 40-50 where it started to feel like a functioning spec and it gets better from there. Although it still has it’s flaws of course, but it doesn’t stay completely horrible the entire living experience.
