She was. Cults are bad. She joined another cult tho

Her reasoning was right, her actions not.

Murdering people that dont join you, doesnt make you better.

Devos’s original stance was right.

Siding with the Jailor invalidated any argument she may have had.

You believe Devos is right because of western societal values placing an emphasis on freedom, independence, and liberty, even at the cost of self destruction (just look at real life right right now where people insist they should have a choice on whether or not to wear a mask during a pandemic).

When you observe the story without societal bias, it becomes clear that Devos is wrong, but only by a general sense. The machine of death has functioned perfectly since time beyond memory. It’s not some fragile assortment of gears that collapses under the slightest bit of pressure. The Shadowlands has been fighting wars against the Light and Void multiple times, and has continued to function without issue. It’s only when betrayal comes from within (Denathrius) that everything starts falling apart.

The issue with the Forsworn is that while they may be victims, they’re victimizing innocent people as well. Not only that, but Devos is arguably the worst of the worst. She has Forsworn forcibly transformed into Mawsworn in the Maw, against their will, to provide new weapons for the Jailer. All the Forsworn she intentionally helped to create are like chattel.

If she split off to do her own thing peacefully then sure she’s fine. But joining the Maw and attacking your brethren is not ok. The kyrians are doing no one any harm and they have valid points too, it’s just a difference of philosophy. Both sides have pros and cons to their ways.

But Devos is still in the wrong for being so hostile and joining evil forces. That’s not supportable.

But what if Jailer is right and shadowland zones exist just to eat anima and empower leaders, while everyone else just suffer

If you maintain the person who you were in life, you become a partial judge of character. Uther didn’t let go of his past, he couldn’t because his spirit was torn in two. When he ascended to being a Kyrian, he took Arthas’s soul, and cast him into the maw. That wasn’t his decision to make, it was the Arbiter’s. That is why you must let go of who you used to be.

By not joining you they are standing against you and in your way of ideals. This makes them no better than your worst enemy. It’s self defense. By not joining her, you are hurting her. She is just defending herself.

He may be right, but you don’t need to torture souls to do that.

Well, what if you do. What if it’s the only way.

I seriously doubt the only way to overturn a wrong is to do an even bigger wrong.

Pillars of eternity 2 had this plot of God thinking that Soul Machine that he and other gods created is a bad thing for mortals. So he decided to break it

If blizzard manage to do something on same level - that would be pretty cool

So this means Uther is now on the side with the Jailer and stuff? Oh have the mighty have truly fallen. It’s all actually really sad.

No, Uther is shown to not know a thing about Devos’ true loyalties. He believes everything they do is for the Forsworn, and for the good of the Kyrians who are brainwashed into complacency.

Sorry I’m still learning here so he doesn’t know that Devos went talked to the Jailer and sided with him?

Devos is an attractive female so I found myself siding with her at first, but then when I went into the dungeon to see her, she had her robots and flying serpent guys attack me.
They killed my friend too.

I tried to talk with her.
I even got her a gift.
I tried to toss it to her, but it was so windy up there I ended up throwing it harder than I expected and I think she took it the wrong way because she started to try to kill my friend again.

Luckily she put a shield down for me, so I wouldn’t get hurt too.

Not sure where our relationship is at this moment. Getting mixed signals.

Correct. Uther is unaware that Devos has sided with the Jailer. Almost all of the Forsworn are unaware of her true allegiances.
