Devoker undertuned?

I prefer solo content and leveling toons, playing none for the toughest group content (m+, raids, pvp). I like how the different classes have differing playstyles to obtain the unifying goal of oblitering mobs.

But, omg, devastation evoker is the most squishy of everything I have played (I have all classes at max level). Because I play all classes, I likely suck at one or more or all of them. Devoker is the only class, however, that I have died to prey bosses after getting some gear.

My 270+ devoker still dies to some prey bosses that spam spells. I just run out of interrupts/defensives, and their spells rot me down. Other open world content and t11 delves remain easy. Heck, getting to the prey bosses is easy mode even with ambushes, echos, and kill-me-now all happening at once to my devoker.

I really, really enjoy the drachthyr aesthetic and devoker playstyle. (My dragon body, my choice.) But skill issue?

I mean partly skill Id say, requires a lot more kiting and defensives popped ahead of big damage instead of reactive.

For difficult solo content I’d switch to preservation. They still pump good damage and you’ll never have to worry about dying.

For devastation evoker, offense is the best defense.

Evoker probably squishest thing ever, played on devour dh was easy mode compared to evoker. That been said, once you get a certain amount of gear everything just become really easy

I’ve done Nightmare Prey consistently as a Devoker at an even lower ilvl with ease, rather.

But i’s on Scalecommander. 2x Stun, plus a ton of Hover uptime - always remember to use a Hover charge before every DB, so you won’t lose it.

I thought it was kinda simple… I need to be attentive, though, but nothing out of the world.
