My brother and I got a craving today to start fresh on ERA. I’ve seen the DD posts re: fresh from a couple of months ago. Still a good option?
Not sure how that server is right now, but one thing is certain, there are a fair bit of their players in Battlegrounds on both factions with a very large spread of skill.
If you’re looking for a big server it may be a good option, but Witemane is really fun also, tho the WMC community is flat massive but its actually really chill.
Grobbulus Era is a thing, and has a very small all be it strong community.
Mankirk PvE cluster is good too, I have some friends who play there, and a great players.
You have options, just check the communities on some alts, talk to both factions and findtne group you jive with.
Thank you! We’re okay with any size, will be PvE focused so mainly would just like to see people still running dungeons & lower content ideally outside of GDKP.
You will be best looking at Mankrik cluster alliance side, there are still SR and MS>OS runs going, Whitemane lower tier content is almost exclusively GDKP. Grobbolus guilds are great, but they are not big dungeon runners.
How small we talking?
1 guild per faction, 30-40 on alliance, 20-30 on horde.
Duckling and Cezar (thank you both!) summed us up well regarding Grobbulus.
We’ve been playing on Grobb for over 3 years now, many of us stayed around after the game moved to TBC and haven’t stopped. Some even day 1 Grobb mob.
I describe our server as a small hippie tribal commune. It’s very active for what it is… about 100 players total. Both factions raiding (alliance has cleared Naxx, horde just got bwl down and is starting aq40 soon). Both factions have a friendly/hateful rivalry against eachother.
It’s sort of like solo self found but on a guild scale. No AH, we just trade and barter internally. Super community oriented and helpful people. At the end of the day, we’re two raiding guilds. The raids are the center of gravity every week. But people do run lower dungeons, especially if people are asking and need help.
Always happy to chat and explain our odd little world to those interested! Here’s a semi recent post too: [Era] A Call to Grobbulus, Horde Victorious
So my buddy and I just transferred off of DD, not because of the community or lack there of, but there was pretty much one guild that I would raid with on that server, and I couldn’t make the raid times still an awesome community though for whatever my opinion is worth. Now I play on Mankrik, feels almost the same as DD just more people, which gives me more options for raids. Hope you find a home!
DD are the worst in AV. straight noobs
Xfour has a DD horde? i can’t wait to see it in AV, you’re getting hard targetted.
It’s definitely dying big time. I just raid log and get on once a week to raid with guild. Started back on HC while I wait for fresh TBC…
Are you mad that he’s getting free gear on DD meanwhile you have to mald week in and week out trying to win bidding wars xD
…no. I just want to kill Xfour on his DD horde after trolling AVs with him and Alyssamarie for what feels like a while now.
This is my only DD horde - and all she did was sit at raven hill farming alliance player tears.
=( my dream of reck bombing xfour in revenge for all the reck bombs he’s thrown out is over before it began!
He has a Shama on DD.
I have a few horde on WM from SoM - I’ve been thinking about ranking one of them in the future.
So perhaps your dream will come true, or you will die to a EM zug combo before you press bubble
Stack some HP because you gotta survive the ZugZap, and if he’s got buddies bring a FAP.
Always have gnpps for the shammies, prepop 1 if you’re hunting one and have the second ready. And since you’re likely wearing out their mana, t3 will come in handy.
As repentance I find I can lock them down well enough usually to kill if I’m rocking DMG gear and spell power consumes
Even LoS will win you most matchups.
