blah, blah, blah is what most of hear.

Yay! Thank you! For a Cross-faction Roleplayer and DM of roleplay events that welcomes the entire server… this is great! We will finally be able to smooth out all of the issues of trying to run two different faction groups so that everyone can enjoy the events/stories we create.

So excited!

Please just give us cross faction guilds as well. If there’s some technical limitations for guilds that will take longer to solve, and you are trying to give us something before then, just be transparent about that. The communities seems like an MVP solution while some complex guild issue is being resolved, but there’s no reason to not tell us that.

And this marks the end of my caring about this game. Kumbayah-craft signals to me that the game and the playerbase in favor of this change no longer represents the game I loved. I’m happy for those people that got what they wanted, it’s just not for me anymore.

As you stated the players will remain hostile outside of the instance. Will we be able to summon members of the opposite faction at the meeting stone?

They’re not done with tuning or working out all the details ,so that’s a good question.

“Once in a party together, members of the opposite faction will remain unfriendly while in the “outdoor” world (and fully hostile in War Mode!), as they do today, though they will be able to communicate through party chat.”

Fight club confirmed.

Give us a little time. There are only six of us left.

Keep the story and the gameplay separate and this is good.

What I mean by that is from a gameplay mechanics standpoint; this is great. Make it easier for players to find groups, do content, decrease wait times; that’s all fantastic.

From a plot standpoint, the conflict between the Horde and Alliance is the literal heart of Warcraft. Blending the factions would be like taking the one ring out of Lord of the Rings. While it’s good to have these periods of armistice and external threats; it only matters for the build up until we return to war. Keep the Horde and Alliance as opposing forces narratively.

This is a whole lot of nonesense you’re just pulling out of thin air. Nobody left BFA because of the war narrative; that was BFA’s biggest draw. It was the game content that made people leave. Warcraft is for the war and we need more.

Very thankfuly this is being implemented. I have a couple of friends who prefer to play ally while i play horde and being able to group together on our mains to run keys and raids will be so good, I can’t wait!

I am also throwing my vote behind cross faction guilds being made possible, even if its an opt in toggle like was mentioned for the premade group finder listings.

I appreciate the desire to keep the faction identity strong while facing the realities of the current player base/social challenges.

More needs to be done, Horde and Alliance have come together some many times. The bonds made should be more important than a faction divide.

Won’t be opting in, thanks for not making it mandatory

This is great and all, but cross-faction guilds need to at least be an opt-in. When it comes to raiding guilds, all of the raiders usually play in the guild: 80% of the players need to be in the guild for it to count as a kill, access to guild repairs and bank, HoF achievements are tied to guild, and easy communication through /g and calendar invites by rank.

My guild started with friends and grew to make even more friends, I don’t see why it has to be locked to factions. Don’t care about going to other faction cities and stuff, just cross-faction guilds.

Great news!
Please cross faction for guilds and random queues too…

This is one of the many reasons they need to include guilds and the random queues in the cross-faction concept.

I mean the story piece basically happened in BfA when the Alliance and elements of the Horde under Saurfang, Baine, Lor’themar and Thalyssra banded together to throw out Sylvanas, and establish the Horde council. I thought the whole expansion was leading up to breaking down the faction divide, and was shocked when it happened in the story, but not in the mechanics. Maybe that was the intention, and they’re just that far behind… >_>

A much welcome and interesting change. This will open doors to new friendships, strengthening of bonds/community, and hopefully a more relaxed environment (We’ll have to see how that one goes). Not weird from a lore-side perspective either, it wouldn’t be the first time Horde and Alliance have had to work together. Excited to see how this evolves!
