I do the same. Trust me, bro. There are guilds that accommodate that. There are millions of players and there are dads just like you, shift workers that can only play late at night, marines based in Hawaii, and just insomniacs.
Oh, but aside from the “cheer up, Buttercup” thing, Blizz is 100% justified in tearing down the faction wall. It hasn’t served a real purpose in years. It’s time.
Practically all raids and dungeons are Horde + Alliance fighting the common enemy. It doesn’t matter what comes in between, in these instances they cooperate.
And when some outdated, weak lore starts negatively affecting the gameplay, it’s time to change. The majority knows that and Blizzard knows that. So it’s time to adapt or leave the game. Either way, the majority is satisfied and the game is healthier for it.
Except the vast majority of their player base is already playing Horde as it is. Increasing players aren’t going to do anything except swell Horde numbers even higher once potential new players realize they can’t get groups together for content playing as Alliance. I mean, duh.
Sounds like someone hasn’t been paying attention to the story at all tbh. Like, I’m sorry, but if your primary point is “But story” then you’re making the completely wrong argument. You misunderstood the story. Start over from the beginning.
There’s a difference between “getting along” and “putting their differences aside to fight their common enemy”. The latter they’ve done in practically every patch of every expansion. Which makes it absolutely nonsensical that they can’t raid and do dungeons together.
My man is trolling, right? Or did you unsub after the first patch of MoP? You don’t get to outsource your low attention span onto strangers in a forum just because you blinked and missed ten years of Warcraft lore.
No. Just stop. I’m so f-ing tired of Blizzard knowing what the community wants and only giving us a taste of it every once in a while until years down the road we finally get what we asked for all along.
PTR Players: Um Blizz this is terrible, you need to do this instead.
Blizz: Haha, we hear you, we really do but no, trust us, what we have planned will be awesome.
X.0 release Players: Um seriously Blizz, this sucks, we told you what we wanted in the PTR, you should really do that.
Blizz: Haha, yeah, we f-ed up. But not really because we’re mostly happy with how it turned out. However 10% of what you wanted is coming in the next patch.
X.1 release Players: Yeah, that’s nice and all but still doesn’t solve literally all of the issues we’ve been talking about. Please, just give us what we’ve been asking for since the PTR.
Blizz: Okay, okay, I guess we can give you another 10% of that. We’re still really happy with how it’s all gone down though.
X.2 release Players: Okay, that’s starting to be a bit better but it’s still not a good experience. Please, PLEASE just give us what we’ve been asking for.
Blizz: FINE! FINE! HERE IT IS. ARE YOU F-ING HAPPY!?!?!
X.3 release Players: Yeah, this is actually fun now. Can you please just listen to us next time so we can enjoy the game for the whole expansion instead of waiting until the last minute to fix stuff we told you was wrong since day 1?
Blizz: Absolutely, we’re gonna listen extra hard next time. Return to PTR Players and repeat ad infinitum
End of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos.
End of Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne.
Most of the endgame content of Classic WoW.
Most of the endgame content of BC.
Most of the endgame content of Wrath, with ICC being a noted exception to a degree
Most of the endgame content of Cataclysm
Most of the endgame content of Mists of Pandaria
Most of the endgame content of Warlords of Draenor
Most of the endgame content of Legion
Most of the endgame content of Battle For Azeroth, what with the poorly handled N’Zoth
And, likely, to type it, most likely most of the endgame content of Shadowlands.
The game is practically written like the rivalry between Goku and Vegeta. I think literally every single expansion to date has at least for one patch or more had the story tell of how the Alliance and the Horde MUST work together or both DIE.
Its not. You can’t rely on the population websites because they can’t tell the difference between a main and an alt. You’ll be hard pressed to find a Horde main that doesn’t have an Alliance alt.
If you want a better number, albeit still not 100% accurate, look at the arena numbers. It’s a better representation of population numbers as a subset of the whole. What is it, like 70% Horde or something? It’s nuts.
I really want to believe but I just can’t until they actually prove me wrong. They’ve haven’t just destroyed all trust I once had, they’ve destroyed all hope I once had.
I have felt for a long time that we need Mercenary Mode open to both Horde and Alliance, all the time. That would preserve the illusion of Horde vs. Alliance in random battlegrounds, and it would allow for enough mixing for an equilibrium to establish itself.
Please anyone at blizzard who reads this for the sake of my guild and your community. Please make cross faction guilds… I’m begging you. So many issues will disappear if guilds can be alliance and horde together. On this one thing just pull the ripcord now and not later and let me and my friends play this game we love together the way we all want to play it.
