My thoughts about Devastation and I think many things need to change. If you have other thoughts please write it and hopefully one of the Devs get to read this and give them motivation or creativity to a cool interesting talent setup.
Before we dive into it, I have a suggestion and that is to rename Fire Breath to Dragon’s Breath
My thoughts on empowered abilities were to empower spells that are apart of that ability. For example; Fire Breath/Dragon’s Breath, should empower all RED abilities and the mastery should support those “empowered” abilities by buffing them rather then punishing the class. Same thing for Eternal Surge. Using this ability should “empower” all Blue abilities and the mastery buff the damage of blue abilities due to its “empowerment”.
Talent Tree
The talent tree for Devastation has no Identity. We have no path beside Disintegrate, which is a very boring and have that old talent idea that doesn’t provide other options. Why have a RED and BLUE side when regardless of it, its focused on BLUE, unless you do AoE, but stil focuses on BLUE. When I look at Preservation, I can choose 3 different paths. One being full Bronze build putting remaining points into others, the other full green build putting remaining points into others, or Hybrid. Devastation does not follow this setup.
RED/Left Side

I believe that RED side should focus on “Fire Breath/Dragon’s Breath” as the main Empowered ability that increases its DOT damage Stacking, similar to Warlocks Agony. The Cooldown of this ability should be reduced to 15 or 20 seconds or buff the talent Feed the Flames.

We should get rid of Firestorm since its pretty weak and turn it into something similar to Disintegrate, but as a RED ability. Maybe call it Dragon Flames and have it have a talent similar to Disintegrate’s Scintillation, but work different. For example; when it hits a target that is effected by Fire Breath/Dragon’s Breath, it has a chance to inflict intense heat for 8 secs for X damage stacking up to 3x. This ability should replace Tyranny, in the middle talent tree, and you can choose either Disintegrate for BLUE or Fire Breath/Dragon’s Breath for RED. Catalyze should still apply with this ability.

Feed the Flames and Everburning flames should be seperate talents that helps the empowered ability rather than choosing one over the other.

Imminent Destruction should go and replace it with a damage buff.

Ruby embers should be buffed if RED is going DOT fire damage.

Add some other RED talents that would increase DOT damage or empowered abilities.
Middle Talents

Dragonrage should turn into a buff that increases the damage of RED or BLUE abilities depending on the side you go. So there should be a choice for RED Dragonrage (Fire buff around your body), or BLUE Dragonrage (Frost around your body) and the ability to increase RED or BLUE damage for X amount of time. Animosity should stay as well if we have 1 Empowered ability being Focused on each side.

Imposing Presence and Inner Radiance should be taken out and put on the basic tree, and utilize that spot with the ability to choose from Fire Breath/Dragon’s Breath, or Eternity Surge. Focusing on one Empowered ability.

Honed Aggression should be in the middle since its focusing on both

Spellweavers Dominance should be in the middle or top
BLUE
I think Blue side is pretty good except for adding in some AoE damage for Eternity Surge and increasing the damage it does while buffing the talent Causality.

Eye of Infinity Causality, Focusing Iris, and Arcane Vigor should have their own talents rather then choosing one, or two out of the four.

Disintegrate should be movable during cast like Arcane Missiles (Arcane Mage).
Passives

I think more may be added for a Hybrid, but I thinking of it. Also, if I didn’t mention Pyre and other abilities is because I think they are fine the way they are.
