The guides are all over the place with priority rotation in TWW. I have two main questions.
-
Are we still hitting Shattering Star prior to Eternity Surge? Or afterwards to catch more Disintegrate casts?
-
Are we still able to clip back-to-back Disintegrate casts for a DPS increase or do we need to fully finish the cast now?
For reference, I am currently Flameshaper. Thank you.
Preheat has an excellent video that explains both the Shattering Star and Disintegrate clipping, as well he has a weakaura that helps you time it perfectly too.
1 - Yep! Shattering Star into Eternity Surge can give you super huge damage.
2 - Yep!
You being Flameshaper doesn’t change the base function of these 2 spells (other than giving you Enkindle, which doesn’t affect either of these.)
If you were Scalecommander and queued up 2 Mass Disintegrates however, I would say on 1 or 2 targets that you’d Shattering Star into 2 Disintegrates, because they would be buffed very strongly already and Shattering Star would only serve to boost that. I say 1-2 targets because Shattering Star only hits 2 targets.
Be interested to hear from someone playing Scalecommander as I too am playing Flameshaper.
Flameshaper sees no real change to disintegrate usage for clipping channels but it feels like the 2 minute pop-off is Living Flame if Ruby Embers DoT is not up, Dragonrage, Firebreath, Shattering star, Engulf Engulf Tipped Eternity Surge, Disintegrate Disintegrate. Instant casts don’t use up burning adrenaline so it lets you get more into fast casting, buffed disintegrates right away while also maximizing Engulf damage. After the dragonrage burst, get two free Engulfs to play with that you can use individually (preferably with all buffs as usual) or together on the 1 minute mark like a mini-dragonrage. Shattering star without engulf follows the usual of getting it before ES to get double-buffed disintegrates after.
This is with the flame breath dmg node instead of cinder boost right?
Is the one I have been working with, yeah. They’d probably have to rework the other node to function more like our DF S2 tier set for it to really feel impactful.
The way I figure it, Fire breath buffs both fire breath and consume flame and lets you max out engulf and burning adrenaline by using it before spenders rather than after.
Make it so that Enkindle does the 4 pc s2 effect when you Engulf or when you Fire Breath.
You can fit both engulfs after eternity surge within the shattering star window without needing to use TTS on it.
