Devastation: Flame Shaper Question

Does the Spell: Fire Storm work with Fire Shapers: Engulf? I feel like it should but I’m not 100% sure.

Fire Storm does not count as a DoT effect as far as Engulf is concerned. At least, not according to my testing.

In fact, Engulf does not seem to be programmed as counting DoTs in general, rather it has a whitelist of spells it’s looking for. That whitelist appears to be the Living Flame DoT (Boolean if present, not number of stacks), Enkindle, and Fire Breath. The DoT from Deep Breath does not count, even if you time it right. And the DoT from disintegrate is either not whitelisted, or the DoT is removed before Engulf is calc’d if you try to interrupt the channel with an Engulf.

That seems very underwhelming. I hope they make some changes and give Flame Shaper more a of a visual. Heck to me the theme would make more sense if its, “Shadow Flame” since Shadow flame is stressed lore wise that it is more dangerous than regular Fire magic and Fell Flames.

Yeah, but Shadowflame is evil :slightly_smiling_face:

I’d agree about engulf. I thought it was gonna be a single target nuke. It does hit really hard on bosses that have a phase where they take + damage done, and that’s super cool. But yeah, I think Disintegrate cancelling should give that final oomph.

We should’ve had shadow flame instead of flameshaper and cosmic void instead of Scalecommander like sarkareth

Maybe they’ll add a 3rd Hero Spec.

My wild dream is that they’ll give dev access to chronowarden.

Chrono dev would go hard.
