Devastation Fix Please!

  • Mana Cost: Verdant Embrace, Living Flame, Emerald Blossom

With the latest hot fix in buffing our healing and increasing mana cost. I felt like the healing was a buff that was much needed to Living Flame.

But, now I cast emerald blossom and verdant embrace and I’m at 70% leaving me only able to cast 2-3 living flame. 4 if I’m lucky but then I’ll be on and can’t dps.

Seems like mana cost of verdant embrace and emerald blossom need to reduced.

*Hover: fix it to work like spirit walkers grace. I’m tired of interrupting my casts to apply the buff.

*Tip the scales: allow us to cast during mid casts. So we don’t interrupts our casts.

Defensive abilities like Obsidian Scales and Renewing Blaze being able to be cast while mid-cast and within a stun or silence will give us the fighting chance to defend ourselves against the CC- burst. As well as giving us a form of protection when going all in for the Deep Breath, Fire Breath, and Eternity Surge casts.

Remove Devastation Talent Imposing Presence (talent reduced Quell CD by 20 seconds Replace with Emerald Communion and make Inner Radiance talent baseline in Devastation Evokers.

Make quell a 20 sec cd baseline.

  • The added passive healing from Inner Radiance being baseline in Devastation and the hopeful addition of Emerald Communion will give the Devastation Evoker that sense of major defensive cooldown it has been lacking.

  • The reduced cooldown benefit of Verdant Embrace will give the Devastation more flexibility in a supporting aspect as well as healing themselves.

Example preservation verdant embrace is 16 sec cd but devastation is 24 sec cd. Make devastation benefit off the reduced cd modifier.

  • Emerald Blossom two charges instead of one.

*Talent Focusing Iris should already be incorporated in Shattering Star and Arcane Vigor and Focusing Iris should be removed to reduce talent bloat.

  • Disintegrate: This should allow the player caster to cast Unravel and Firestorm and shattering star and living flame instant cast procs from Burnout Talent while casting the ability as well as it should be a baseline able to channel while the player moves.

  • Living Flame: This should allow the player to cast Unravel and firestorm and shattering star while casting the ability as well.

Talents

  • Firestorm should be instant cast. Firestorms should have a larger radius.

  • Everburning Flame should be moved and replace the talent Imminent Destruction. It should also extend Firebreath dot dmg by 1/2 seconds per essence ability used on the targets affected by Firebreath.

  • Ruby Embers and Engulfing Flame should be moved to Preservation.

A new iteration that will replace Ruby Embers and Engulfing Flame should be a small buff to Pyre making it so that when it is used it inflicts a fire DoT on the target for 30% of the dmg it did.

*Talent Ancient flame reworked Living Flame cast time reduced by .5 seconds. Giving it a 1.5-second cast time baseline from a 2-second cast time.

This will allow us to utilize the filler and feel impactful. It will also aid in the living flame being dependable in a supportive and offensive aspect.

Spell Modify

  • Azure Strike spell Cleave radius increased by additional 5-8 yds.

  • Pyre spell Cleave radius increased by an additional 5-8 yds.

  • Charged Blast talent changed using blue magic increases the dmg of your next pyre by 20% stacking up 5 times.

I believe these changes will be ultimately beneficial!!! Adding flavor and fun and smoothness to the class.

Quality of Life

  • Pyre animation to deal damage faster, the slow-moving bolt is not fun.

Cool animation though. I’d like to see it shoot like a shattered star. The throwing it up in the air thing is kinda silly and, as you said, makes it slow to hit its target.

PERFECT IDEA!! I LOVE THAT!! YES! I totally hate how slow Pyre is and it is almost like its GCD needs to be .5 sec faster too!

I like that idea. Emphasis on “being able to move while casting” . This should have been a baseline ability for all Evokers and a “decent” compensation for the 25yd range nonsense

Yes, the burning of hover to just disintegrate feels so awful. Feels criminal!!

I can’t count the number of disintegrates I’ve wasted in mythics because I had to move.

errr it’s just bad bad bad design on all fronts !!!

honestly sometimes I just don’t get it. These ppl been in the game dev business for 18 years and still make mistakes. It’s like being in the business of building airplanes and every time you release a new model, the airplane takes off and after few mins the engines fail and it crashes.

I agree but thankfully its easy fix!

Just enable it to be cast while moving and allow hover to not interrupt spells. !

Because it’s a new class and new classes require time to get properly tuned.

Maybe give hover 2 charges baseline and buff Regenerative magic from 15% to maybe 25%

If we’re going to be stuck close to the melee fight then we should have a little more mobility and a little less hard casting.

This is a real issue. You shouldn’t be locked out of offensive LF casts at low mana.

I think Dev should have reduced Empower CDs from Haste. That would bring a lot of value to the stat and improve gameplay.

I think it would fit the fantasy to have this AoE in a radius around your character. Would also give it some value in PvP.

I don’t understand this suggestion. I think instead the .5 cast penalty should be removed from Engulfing and Ruby Embers should be buffed to be more competitive.

This is a good idea. At least make it proc when casting on allies to give Devastation more utility.

I would like to see more niche utility here to make Charged Blast viable for single target, but not sure what the best solution is here.

I only PvE for gear. Otherwise it’s PvP only. I’m enjoying playing it so I guess I’ll just keep on and hope that Blizzard fixes it.
