Devastation: Better range and better defensives

Give Devastation the range it deserves and the defensives it needs.

Our magic defense talent is getting buffed by double, which is nice, because most damage is magic damage, and our asburdly high armor doesn’t do anything against magic. But it’s probably not everything we need.

They should make Defy Fate a class talent.

Off topic but for PvP I would really like to see a Causality buff for disintegrate because it is so difficult to get an extension on Dragonrage with eternity surge/fire breath especially in Arenas with CC/Interrupts. Our tier set next season is going to put an emphasis on getting the extension which is why I worry.

I wish shadow priest had devoker’s defensives.

thanks, I needed that laugh.

All one of them?

I don’t even use the magic defense talent currently because it’s so insignificant compared to other talents for mobility, healing and CCs, which is why they’re buffing it I suppose but I still won’t use it if it remains buried by other, better talents. I hate that evoker has such hard choices in talents like this.
Like having to choose between a much shorter cooldown on interrupts or much better self healing is enraging when we have so few defenses and our healing was nerfed. That one really bothers me in PvP.

I agree dev having such shorter range simply because it has hover feels bad. Last night I was doing the mega dungeon with some pugs and the tank was doing a proper strat on tyr tanking him in the corner where the gate was, but I legit couldnt even hit the boss cus it was out of range from the poo on the floor. It felt horrible

It’s really bad in PvP. If they increased range in PvP I could suffer with the PvE shorter range, but there’s just no benefit in any aspect of combat for the short range, only handicaps that no other class has to deal with.

In fact, for most classes it’s the opposite. Some classes, like DK for example, have abilities that directly benefit from evoker having such short range. Always being in grip range and having more grips than evoker have hover is pretty unfair to a caster class (most DK with half a brain will use slappy hands against casters, evoker especially). Having to use Deep Breath just to get away from an enemy that sticks to you like glue feels really bad. And that’s just one example among many.
