Dev Players are trying their best to avoid it, and have even come up with a new (and fun) build that only puts 1 put into it.
How about instead of doing the “fun detected” nerfs and bricking this build because it chooses to not play Apex, you rework the Apex into something that’s actually fun and not forced ramping slop?
I think Dragonrage being a 2-minute CD is the functional stopper on keeping Dev from being as fun as it should be. Reworking the Apex and making it a 1-minute CD would alleviate most of the problems it has regarding that deadzone of essence starvation that slows down the gameplay so much. That long CD also just causes so many awkward moments from encounter to encounter, forcing you to hold off on it or just not have it when you need it.
There’s obviously other issues like Disintegrate doing around 60%+ of our total damage, making every other spell feel insignificant and meaningless beyond being a part of the mandatory rotation, but the Dragonrage cooldown is the biggest issue in my opinion.
Edit: And when I say Disintegrate does around 60%+ I’m not even including all the Scintillation procs. You could add even more to that based on Eternity Surge and Shattering Star damage, both of which are only on the damage meter due to Disintegrate proccing them so often. Eternity’s Span also inflates this even more. It’s just “Oops all Disintegrate”.
