‘Devastator’ is a protection warrior talent.

This talent replaces ‘Devastate’.

To better illustrate my concern, that means for me Devastate deals 3,106 damage with a 30% Shield Slam proc. Devastator replaces Devastate and deals 1,977 damage and reduces Shield Slam proc chance to 20%.
Can someone please help me understand how this in not only a useless talent, but one that also negatively affects a protection warrior’s damage output and rage generation?
Im sure you take booming voice in like almost all situations.
There are some prot warriors I see take in raids, but I think its so they can get the highest parse. Instead of using a gcd to devastate, the dmg is just put into ur auto attack. So while it does little dmg itself, it doenst take anything away from your rotation and is constantly being used every 2.6 sec.
Im sure someone else can explain better though
Its only slighty better for single target it seems.

You can kinda tell these some of these people are only trying to get good parse by looking at their traits.
I see devastator as a training wheels talent.
You take it when you first start playing prot so you have one less button to think about.
Later when you have mastered the basics of the spec you take off your training wheels and take the correct talent. Booming Voice.
