Deva Evoker or Destruction Warlock

So I like Evoker but I dislike the dragon form but I love the gameplay.

With Warlock, I love the class fantasy and all the utility they offer.

Which do you recommend that I main going into TWW?

I like that warlock has 3 damage dealing specs as well.

I can’t say I have much love for Evoker nor the Dracthyr and I also main DPS, so my biased opinion is that Warlock seems like a superior choice.

If you play Dev people are going to beg you to go aug so I’d say lock.

You listed no negatives of warlock and more positives for warlock so play warlock

If you don’t like the dracthyr then I think you basically have your main choice here.

Now if you want to look past the race itself, I think Deva is super fun to play personally.
They have been buffing its damage output a lot, and the hero talents feel great imo.

Evoker is dynamic, with lots of motion. It’s range keeps you close to the fight and everyone else.

The Warlock is a turret. Park on the edge, spin to win, side step when you have to.

Depends on how dynamic you like your gameplay.

Warlock will give you more options if you are looking at going pure DPS, though I would point that Devastation can be an absolute monster thanks to how it’s master works (IE bursting Huge) in Keys.

I’d say something about Aug but You strike me as being way more about the Big numbers then the kind of playstyle it offers.

Lock most definitely, you seemed to gravitate towards it in your post. (You can get green fire from a quest too, so added customization bonus)

Well the choice is easy.
From Evoker there are aspects you dont like
From Warlock you like everything

Go warlock, you can’t regret.

Personally, my only reason to play Evoker is because I love both DPS and Healing. But if you are not going to Healer, warlock is the best choice.

No one has ever asked this of me. I only play Preservation and Devastation.

:dracthyr_shrug:

Probably should’ve mentioned that it’s relevant to the content you’re doing. Of course someone isn’t going to care what spec you are playing in normal raids and heroic dungeons lol.

Well I used to main shadow priest so I’m used to being the underdog anyway.

Think I’ll go Destro warlock. I love infernal, their cc and utility.

Warlock /thread

Of course it is. I used to run higher M+ keys when Aug released. Still never got asked to switch.

This is something I’ve been struggling with every time I entertain the idea of playing evoker. Aren’t you being selfish for choosing to join a group as devastation instead of augmentation? Because even if nobody’s asking you to switch, you’d still be making the tank and healer’s job safer as augmentation, yet you’re choosing not to do it with your spec choice.

Uh… no. Because while Aug is boring to play, it’s difficult to master. And I’m useless as Aug.

That’s right. Because I know what I can play well to help the group more. And no one else pays my sub but me.

Like most dps who don’t take utility above damage, even tho that utility might make it easier for the group as a whole? Or specs during Afflicted week that could help with dispels but chose to leave it all on the healer?

When all other specs are playing selflessly, we can start asking evokers to switch if they didn’t join as aug.

As in at least above a 20? Nobody is going to ask you to switch for low keys as it still simply isn’t needed to be aware of what spec you are. You don’t even need to think about comp in a 20 unless it was an incorp week or something.

Depends on the content bracket you’re in. Unless it’s really early season I’d say that you’d get more milage from Dev. It’s overkill to be augmentation evoker in like a +6 or something lol.

Well, yeah. I don’t know why people would make their choices a group problem for any of those. Admittedly I might just be paranoid about letting people down but I don’t think that negates the question.

Tell that to all the people complaining they had to play Aug for every key, including +2s.

My point is: the meta never mattered for most people and no one was asking or making anyone swap in the normal key range.

The 1% playing higher keys was never under consideration. That’s an entirely different ballgame.
