Is it worth playing in PvP? Had a blast before in TWW and was pretty good, I was able to hold my own in 1v1s against melee and some casters decently well
How does it feel in midnight ? I’m trying to figure out what caster I want to play
It’s fun in group fights, with a healer nearby if you’re going caster mode. They kinda suck at base holding or getting caught out solo, but they are amazing at laying waste with massive aoe burst (which is why I say super fun in group fights). I’d say it’s really up to what you’re into.
The other aspect that takes some getting used to is the shorter range compared to every caster, except Devourer DH which has the same range limitations. I personally enjoy the mid range aspect, if you have lots of melee on the team people tend to ignore you and if you’re a caster heavy team you have more mobility than everything other than maybe a mage, so getting around is easy but more guerrilla warfare style.
5 schools of magic is also nice as a caster because you basically always have something you can cast if you’re interrupted. And self healing is handy even if you might be a little squishier than some other casters.
The best spec for PvP is arguably Preservation if you wanna dip your toes into healing as well; it’s one of the best healers right now.

I enjoy BGs more, and Devastation (esp. Scalecommander) fits like a glove to it.
Yeah, I only do meaningful damage in burst intervals with Mass Disintegration, however there’s so much utility and other useful things you can do in between those.
DB’s mass aoe stun is extremely useful, and people rarely manage to get out of the way in time. Rescue and Swoop Up are really good when you’re able to strategically use them. Big knockback, spammable CC, Time Stop is great to save somebody. Scouring Flame is incredibly useful as a Flameshaper, You have a bleed cleanse which is rare, just to name a few utilities.
I must say that the spec is kind of reliant on the team doing well, but when it comes to Blitz, is really a coin toss overall, either your team is doing good or doing awful, and I don’t know if there’s a single spec in the game who can carry the latter, no matter how good you’re playing.
