Dev evoker needs a rework

It’s a great mixture melee and caster.

But then disintegrate really ruins this. It should not be a channel but instant cast damage.

Reduce the cost. Make us press it multiple times. I don’t care but our spender/sustain should not be casted.

Devo should only cast for CC and overpower spells.

They should make ice claws melee range and increase its damage.

Change the Mastery from the dumb unbalance able crap it is now to something like Increases damage the closer you are to the target, max benefit at melee ranged.

Maybe ice lazer should be changed to instant cast dot, keeps its current duration and proc chance for stars burst. Which is what? 3 second dot that ticks 5 times. Maybe make it stackable but not refresh its duration so you can spend essence and essence burst as normal.

Idk. there are tons of options here that could make dev feel better and play more like a mid ranged fighter rather than a ranged caster with severally gimped ranged.

I would reroll back to warrior instantly if they ever went with ideas like yours to turn devastation into a melee class

To each their own.

The only improvements i would suggest for Devastation is a Mastery change, a range increase of at least 5 yards, some mobility QoL (reduced hover CD/usable while casting/or consuming essence burst auto-grants hover time), and some passive survivability increases (could just be buffing the leech talent to 10%)

Making it into a weird ranged/melee hybrid is not what i’m looking for out of this spec. There’s survival hunter for that.

No, its just a caster with less range for no reason. It’s not a melee hybrid at all.

If disintegrate was an instant cast it would be basically a 25 yard melee spellcaster.

Being forced into this channel feels awkward to me.

I really like that devoker is 25 yard range. It’s unique. Lots of movement. Lots of instant casts and the empower spell charge up thing is awesome.

I don’t need another ranged class. Nor do I need another melee.

The in between nature of devoker is unique and I find it fun. Disintegrate channel kinda isn’t my favorite and I’d love to see it changed. That’s all.

Except its supposed to be a mid range caster like combatant.

Your changes push it more and more towards just beng a regular ranged class. Which is fine too. but not what they identified the spec to be.

Either drop the idea of mid range caster and make it a normal raned, or actually develop the spec into a mid ranged fighter and remove the “caster” tag from it.

This middle ground doesnt work well.

Literally called it a mid ranged caster then gave it roughly half the range as normal.

so its not a mid range caster like combatant, its just a mid range caster

I think if we could at least always cast disintegrate while moving it would already feel better…
Now for rework i believe other classes have waited longer, so we can wait a little
