Dev confirmed on Twitter,Horde is helping alliance reclaim Gilneas

Pre Legion debatable. Post BFA and SL definitely not.

It’s not like anyone can just walk into the shadowlands. Otherwise they’d probably all just die.

Well now everything is supposed to be forgotten. And everyone is magical friends. That’s the problem though. We kind of got here without really earning it. And it’s not really believable that we’d all just get along and everyone would forgive us.

We did skip like three years that weren’t covered, which didn’t help.

Very true there.

That sounds fine to me. This char still has a chip on his shoulder regarding the Forsaken, so if there’s a questline coming up that involves him taking back Gilneas AND thrashing down some walkers still pining for their “queen”, I’m here for it. Besides, if we had to suck it up and help the Forsaken sort out Lordearon, which was a problem they did to themselves, then these red background folks can help us sort out Gilneas, which was a problem they also caused.

For those of you saying you’re going to skip, just stop, you know you’ll be doing it.

This was a problem too. We started the war that lead the Alliance there and then Sylvanas blighted the whole place but Alliance had to help clean up. It’s so weird.

That’s like three expansions pack worth of time and we just kinda…didn’t cover that time at all. Which is weird. And a lot of happens in that. That’s like if you went from Wrath to Legion in the timeline.

Why not feral forsaken who’ve fallen under degenerative curse that has reduced them to hyped up Scourge.

Boom. You’re not actually killing sentient beings anymore. Just mindless zombies.

Quel’thalas is already 4 zones

Eversong woods(Silvermoon city is Suramar 2.0)
Ghostlands
Zul’Aman
Quel’danis

Metzen flat out said “The elf tribes reunite” when he talked about Midnight, it isnt an entire Lordaeron revamp, on top of the Q&A they uploaded they said “you go north of plaguelands and arent hit with a load screen” it is just going to be Quel’thalas.

It was so they could just jump to absolute peace. Which I’d still be more comfortable if in canon at least one person wasn’t ok with it.

And also if at the least it were our NPCs leading us to this stuff. But mostly if we had our own story too.

The Horde got budget cut.

What does any of that have to do with a launch area? You didn’t start DF on the dragon isles, you started on a boat outside of Org.

I can see why you are confused because Blizzard just LOVES hiding a bunch of stuff behind books.

Gilneas was already reclaimed shortly after cata (it was heavily implied it was but no real explanation) and in BFA novels has Worgen in control of a majority of Silverpine…

C’mon now! This is the season of Love for the Horde. All these wars, conflicts, emergencies. Now is the time for the Horde to step up and make some babies. New warriors for the cause. Do your duty soldier. FOR THE HORDE!

Blizzard already had me at reclaiming Gilneas. But I wont object to them sweetening the cake by letting us wipe out Sylvanas loyalist!

It wasn’t reclaimed until 9.2.5.

I’ve been scrolling for a while now, found two people who also talked about “a dev said it”, but… no source yet. You don’t happen to have the dev’s name or twitter handle, do you?

Well the book didn’t stick with the game lore for sure. And now Blizz is contradicting some books and saying some aren’t canon. So now it’s just guessing time for what is still canon.

This is a very valid question.
