Even though I do not always agree with gameplay or lore decisions from Blizz’s dev team, I bet they are working like hell to launch the pre patch and the expansion.
Although I don’t think, for their mental sanity, that they read this forums I would like to say that I really appreciate that they are listening to feedback, or at least they seem to try, while trying to deliver the expansion on time.
People seem to focus on Blizzard as a whole, but we should not forget that there are a lot of passionate people working in this project

Agree
I would prefer if they took their time to release SL, i bet they are working really hard
Nope. Apparently they think having the last missions unlock on the day of launch is a good idea. Because you know, WoW is inherently stable on freaking Launch Day.
Not banging on the devs, but WoW’s expac launches have historically not been very smooth.
i appriciate the art team thats about it. oh and the GMS that i have talked to in my tickets… and those who are stuck answering phone calls of us angry customers. thats it. i dont count the people who left with mike to form their ow studio they are great people

I can definitely appreciate the amount of time that has to be put into developing an expansion. The art team always does an absolutely phenomenal job.
I can definitely get the sense of a much smaller developmental team and customer service team than previous expansions like Legion. In Legion we were getting frequently asked question videos almost on a monthly basis. You would see Blues posting left and right multiple times every single day now if you look at their interaction history over the past month, you’ll be lucky to see one blue post every day or two. It really does feel like everything is dwindling down and the game that I love most. It really does feel that way. I’m sure it’s going to be around for a long time, but I don’t know, I just feel like a skeleton crew in every department, it just feels that way even if I’m totally wrong.
I’ll give my thanks when they actually deliver.

I do appreciate the devs. I feel so bad about how horrible the community is, as well as the fact that I’m almost 100% positive Activision is bearing down on them hard for this. There’s no way Blizzard wants this kind of horrible deadline for Shadowlands, and I’m sure there is a horrible crunch.

I am so excited about a lot of things coming in SL:
- SPriest without void form
- Character Customization
- Levelling revamp
- 2H frost DK
- Lots of abilities off the GCD
- Sweet new transmog
- Torghast
- Obviously all the new SL art looks amazing too
Go team!

I will never appreciate the dev team until such a time as I’m able to massacre every Pandaren in the game with molten Hellfire.
Jokes aside props to the Dev team for not loosing their minds over how insane this community can be. Takes a lot to be able to take a beating and keep going every day.

In my opinion, MOST of the devs DO NOT make the decisions we like or dislike. You can’t have an army with 200 generals. You can’t expect everyone to agree, or more than 5 people to make a decision. So all the major decisions are made by a small team of “designers”, and all the others are “developers”.
I was a software dev for 32 years. It was like that everywhere. As a senior dev, I could make suggestions or point out problems. But I never made decisions about “what we will give customers”.
In fact, most companies have a separate department for deciding “what features customers will see”. Devs talk to them about what is “easy, hard, impossible” to implement. Then they decide.
Maybe it’s just a matter of words here in the forum. We players disagree with some Blizzard decisions, and we call the unknown deciders at Blizzard “devs”.
I don’t know how the system works at Blizzard.

Dev appreciation…
I’d appreciate it if devs would be more communicative…
I’d appreciate it if the devs would drop the “my way or the highway” design where they punish you if you like things like convenience, flight, or fun…
I’d appreciate it if the devs would give up on coming up with game mechanics ONLY put in the game to waste my time…

Sounds like you dislike designers. Designers make the decisions and create the systems. Devs write the code that makes those systems playable. Devs don’t get to make decisions, they get to do what they’re told.
