I’ve been playing WoW since at least Pandaria, and one of the things that has always frustrated me is not knowing whether the reagents I get from drops are in any way relevant to my character. I just read that at least the corresponding expansion is shown for the reagents now, which is appreciated. However, …
I’ve always thought it would be cool, if when I hover over any reagent, that it would show me more information. Specifically, for Which Professions is this a reagent? I don’t know if a feather is used for tailoring, enchantment or alchemy. I don’t know if a topaz is used for blacksmithing, jewelry making or enchantment. In short, I can’t tell whether the reagents are used by my chosen professions or not and have to constantly look things up.
First thought is to at least add the profession(s) for which it could be used.
Examples
Classic Crafting Reagent for … Cooking
Outland Crafting Reagent for Leatherworking and Inscription.
Second thought is to maybe have a toggle option that when checked, any reagent not relevant to any of Your Current Professions is flagged to sell with the little gold coin, like other non-reagent items.
Lastly, and this is probably too much overhead, it would be cool to see more details, like what one finds in online guides: the requirements to use a given reagent, where it can be obtained, etc. Maybe have the guide downloaded locally for quick references.
Examples
Requirements: Character Lvl 30, Dragonflight Cooking Skill Lvl 15
Obtained/Learned From: … list of vendors, teachers and their locations
Even cooler, generate a quest line to get it. lol. Say you want to learn how to tailor a Core Felcloth Bag. You could have the option of spawning a questline that would get you the knowledge and materials to be able to make it. I have no initial ideas on how that interface would look, but I’ll leave that to the developers to sort out.
okay, maybe I just need to keep toggling, but those are my thoughts on improving the enjoyment with professions and leveling them.
