I am running 2 accounts, using exact same chat settings, display settings, same 2 addons (vendor pricing and map coords) and for some reason my main account has stopped displaying loot info in the chat windows. I will see quest rewards but nothing I pick up from monsters, gather from nodes, or see quest items. I have checked and double checked that all possible settings are identical between the two accounts. I have done /reload and even restarted the client. Again, one account sees everything everyone loots, the other sees nothing. Anyone got any suggestions?

So, you are saying that under the General Chat tab / settings , that you have gone to āotherā and checked off all of the same boxes on each account - including āitem lootā? I am just making sure since there are so many places to change settings in the game.

Yes, 5th one down, default colour is still green. I have a 2nd window for certain chat like party/raid and whispers, even turned it on in that window and neither will show anything other than quest rewards from handins. I even turned off the 2 addons I am using and that didnāt help. I know thereās a lot of things that could affect it, so thanks for the suggestion, but that was one that I double and triple checked lol.
Yeah, I figured you knew what settings you were talking about but I wanted to be sure because a lot of people say they checked all the settings and had no idea that there were settings just for the chat window.
I do the same thing with the extra window for whispers - nice to be able to just filter out the general chat without having to mess with the settings just to check for people looking for groups. I do have the item loot checked on in my extra window and I havenāt noticed the info not showing up. I am pretty sure it is showing though as it tends to fill up the window while I am crafting things. I will double check on mine when I get on Classic later this afternoon.
I have several accounts although I havenāt been multi-boxing yet in Classic. Does it seem to be a multi-boxing issue or a party issue? If you are multi-boxing, do you use the same computer for both? Iām mainly asking because if or when a Blizz employee checks out this thread, those are the kinds of things they will want to know.
I wouldnāt call it multiboxing as Iām not using any software, just some /follow and /assist macros and a lot of alt tabbing back and forth between the 2 clients on one PC lol. I had a ton of gold from being a filthy casual farmer in retail so I fired up a second account via tokens, that way I would always have someone to help do those random elite quests. Also since my first pair is druid/rogue, its fun to go into some dungeons and take out a boss or 2. Anyways, with the current classic crash, maybe itāll fix itself, maybe not. I just donāt recall this happening before today.
nods Yeah, I donāt multibox with software, I just have my old computer on my desk with my newer one. I just never liked trying to just quest/level with two at once.
Did you try just logging into just one account at a time to see if each one works normally when not partied?
Well, Iāve managed to log back into both accounts since the DDOS or w/e crash and problem is fixedā¦lol donāt ask me how. I wouldnāt want to try running 2 PCs at once, too much movement, but with healer/dps combo you just play the dps and only flip to healer to heal up or loot quest items, then hit that /follow button again.
There isnāt a lot of movement. I only multibox to farm dungeons (so far only in current WoW) for upgrading lowbies or for transmog. I just have one character on follow and they just loot. With aoe looting, it makes it super easy. It was even easier before with the old loot options though.
It also helps that I use trackballs instead of regular mice so I just have the two trackballs next to each other so itās only a small movement to move my hand from one to the other.
I could barely find the time to keep my 7 toons goin with emissaries, daily/weekly chores before reset, I fell behind in any mount/xmog farming I wanted to do, much less trying a second account. Also I play on a potatoeā¦2 instances of retail would lag me hard Iām sure, but I can play 2 Classic at max with no issues.
I totally hear you there. I have a ton of alts. I used to be able to keep a good 6+ at max level by mid-expansion. This time I have 4 at 120 and a Rogue who has been struggling to reach that point to open boxes. I have gotten to the point where I only consider doing emissaries if they reward gold or resources unless it is Tortollan with a lot of shell game up or Unshackled because two days of doing the locked chests will complete that. I raid on my main and sometimes on one well-geared alt. I seldom touch mythics because I donāt like the ārush rush beat the timerā style of play.
My farming has lagged because there are just too many mounts to farm. It got overwhelming. For Transmog, I sometimes get in the mood to farm some but that only usually lasts a couple of days before other chores demand attention.
It is probably going to be a long time before I farm in current WoW now though since Classic is just so much fun. I really missed the pre-Cata quests and world.
A week late but Iām currently experiencing this in Classic. I havenāt tested it on other alts yet but it wasnāt doing this last night. Was there ever a solution?
Experiencing it at 10/16 at about 7:55 central timeā¦ Started this session (about 30 mins ago) I hadnāt experienced this at all during any previous gameplay sessions of the day
