IDK if anyone else has been having this issue as severely as me, but I have spent the last 3 hours flying around Isle of Dorn just trying to mine and it seems like every 1 in 3 nodes despawns either as I am mining it or just as I arrive to it. I am honestly getting tired of this as it extends the time I have to mine exponentially when I have other stuff I need to get done in the day. I would be more understanding if it was week 1 of the expansion but we are on week 3, going on 4 and this is still going on. Blizz, please fix this…
My suspicion is phasing because of quest progression. I have less nodes dissapearing on the toon I did the campaign on than the ones I didnt. Mostly guessing tho.
Ive completely done all the quest available in Isle of Dorn and the MSQ so I dont think its phasing, or if it is, ore nodes need to be exempt from phasing cause I ended up going back on my recording I was doing and counted… in the 2 hours I was mining, I hit 289 nodes, 57 or which despawned, 12 of which were back to back
I have completed the campaign and all the quests as well, the amount of nodes I have that despawn sometimes mid mining (especially the ez-mine) is frustrating. Does blizz plan to fix this?
This is how it always worked though? Someone else taps it (or possibly a set number of taps are done) and after this there is a small amount of time before it despawns. If no one taps it for a long time then it has a timer to despawn. This is how they rotate the various ore types (rich, ez, crystalized, etc). Note that this is different than phasing when you’ll move away from the area and it is there again.
It is frustrating, but when it despawns the respawn timer also starts. Wait around in the area and you should see a brand new one pop up nearby.
While it can be frustrating, remember that the more players there are mining the more ore nodes are created. The fastest mining I’ve ever done was in DF in Zaralek Caverns and there was such a feeding frenzy there you couldn’t even see the ore because there were so many people… Had to feel around for it with your interact button. Things despawned almost as fast as they spawned, but there were so many respawns popping up everywhere that you were bound to get lots of ore .
I do wish they would put a visual indicator letting me know how much time I had left. That would be great.
