So I feel like my current desktop computer (built about 2 years ago maybe a bit less). Is not playing Wow as well as it should. I kind of feel like she be able to play on the best setting and still get great fps but that is not the case.
Components
AMD Ryzen 5 7600 6 core processor
32 gb ram (ddr 5 I believe)
AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT GPU
Am I wrong about these components being more than capable of running wow on the best settings?
It will likely run it at max settings, but the performance may not be buttery smooth.
Level 10/Ultra settings are geared towards bleeding-edge hardware, like an Intel i9-14900k or AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and those would need to be paired with GPUs from the last two years or so. The RX 6800 XT was released almost five years ago.
At 1080p, the resolution that the majority of PC systems run, you should easily be able to frame lock 60 fps 99% of the time you play, with slider 10 settings(no ray tracing since AMD’s RT performance wasn’t great in the 6000 series). Depending on the zone and how many things around around, you’ll probably even be in the 100+ range if you don’t frame lock. You might see it dip here and there in raids or with tons of people around in world events, but that’s a main thread CPU bottleneck that even a 14900k/9800X3D would feel.
