Desktop DCs only while playing WOW

after a year or two of internet issues, switching out routers after router, and best buy trip after trip. Ive finally realized that the common thread with my network issues is WOW
what happens is that my networks disconnects on my desktop, and only my desktop randomly at intermittent times.
none of my other devices that are on the internet, IE my PS4 and/or my Iphone get DCd at that time.
I then realized that these incidents mostly happen while playing WOW after google that a lot of people have similar issues
ive tinkered with the network card settings like it says in the support page to see if it helps
doing a WiNmtr test atm
will post results in a bit

Wireless? Does it happen when you are wired too? You do know you can run WinMTR in the background and it does not effect anything.

it happens whether im wired, wireless
usually im both on wireless and on ethernet wired

Well you cannot be both as you are either wireless or wired because one would supersede the other while playing. The above shows wireless which is why I asked.

Perhaps run WinMTR while wired and play for 10 minutes after the issue occurs then post those results too.

You know, many of us have pointed out this hop in other threads to have it disregarded. Based on what we can find out, it's an internal part of Blizzards peering. Perhaps you guys could take a look at it?

Its interesting that you are not experiencing the disconnects while running WinMTR. I've seen that a few times with some connection issues, and the solution is usually to increase the send rate and tolerance threshold settings in the local equipment.

ICMP protocol traffic (the traffic WinMTR uses) fires off packets and demands responses relatively rapidly, which can sort of prop up a connection and make it more stable. That would cause the client to not disconnect while we're running it, then immediately run into issues.

The bad news here is that we can't assist with configuring local equipment like routers and modems. Because we don't know the layout or settings of different network devices, we have to stay in our lane with making alterations to that stuff. My advice would be to reach out to your ISP or equipment manufacturer to see if they can assist with making those changes, then see if it has an impact.
