Players can only open the Warband currency transfer window for currency that they have, and since the UI only lets you transfer from another character to the currently logged in character, this means it’s not possible to transfer currency to a character that doesn’t already have some of that currency.
I’ve been dealing with such right now. So I’m just moving all of my Residual Memories onto my main, that way when I hop on one of my alts to get the gear I can just have it ready for transfer to that alt from my main.
Oh, and don’t bring the currency to 0, keep at least 1 on otherwise it won’t list for the character. Just bothers me. I hope they fix these things.
I am not sure if it is a flaw but a simple limitation because to do otherwise would require adding a currency field to every character even for the currencies they haven’t encountered yet since you only need to have looted it once to gain the field required.
Still, it is more convenient to pull from other characters than it is to send from.
It’s not been an issue for me as I’ve been transferring most to this toon, my main.
Keeping 1 currency on a toon is a good idea though, but with being able to buy pretty much everything on a single toon now, I don’t see it being an issue in the future, still good advice though.
It should be like reputations, get a currency and it stays on. But additionally be given the option to remove the currency by marking it as “Obsolete”, only reappearing in the list if you get the currency again.
The fix they went with was dividing them by type with expansion-specific currencies being sent to the forever box regardless if their field hit zero or not but not creating a field for it until you encounter it, so a new player wouldn’t be having a crowded currency tab with all of the currencies from prior expansions without having gone through and collected some of it.
They wouldn’t need to do that; they could have a single transfer window with a dropdown that lets you select which currency you’re transferring.
I agree, but you should be able to pull to a character even if it doesn’t have that currency.
That’s not true - at least not for me. I first discovered this issue because I had transferred all of the Residual Memories from an alt to my main. When I decided to transfer some back to that alt, Residual Memories was no longer listed in the currency tab, and I could not transfer them.
Considering things being made War bound, there is no real benefit of pulling to a character that has zero of something, though it would always depend on the currency if acquiring one of the currency is more or less annoying than purchasing it on one and sending whatever was purchased into the shared warband bank or by mail.
But I will say that having a single drop-down menu to include every transferable currency even the ones you have none of on that character would be a bad idea. Simple reason? There are a lot of shared icons for different currencies, such as Garrison resources. So they would all need text to identify each one, possibly dividers in the drop-down itself to sort through things, even then would have a very long list. Currently, only one drop down menu simply sorted from characters that have the most of is selected currency at the top to send to the character you are on. Adding a second, longer drop-down menu to the entire process is an inconvenience for how things function.
Definitely experiencing the same. The Residual Memories currency doesn’t even show up in the list for this character. Because she doesn’t have any. Therefore, there is no way to transfer any back to her.
I’m curious why they designed the system to transfer currency between characters as opposed to just listing the account total for all Warband currency? In other words, any Warband currency earned on any toon goes into the pool for any toon to use.
