Deserter Debuff

Queue LFR
Placed in a run with 1/2 bosses down.
Kill 2nd boss.
Queue again.
Kill 1st boss.
Leave because now I’ve done my 2/2 bosses.

You can not do dungeons for 30 minutes for deserting

“Another deserter complain thread?”
Trust me, I’m as tired complaining about it as you are reading it.

Fix it.

If you leave a dungeon/raid/battleground before it’s finished you get a debuff, what do you think should have happened? You left the group? You’ll get over it, do something else while you wait.

I had the same happen to me. But I chose to wait 30 minutes instead of running to the forums.

Thank the degenerate behavior of people in season 1 leaving the first boss of a dungeon over a trinket.

Unfortunately, the two systems aren’t separated like that, so we get screwed out of leaving LFR.

Prior to the change in season 1, you were able to leave a dungeon or raid after killing a boss without penalty. Thus, it didn’t screw people over when queueing for LFR wings.

Just being pragmatic waiting around and killing the second boss takes way less time than 30 minutes.

If I know I’m not going to Que for anything in the next 30 minutes I just eat the penalty.

Otherwise I hang out and kill the second boss.

The math is easy.

The way Deserter works on lfr is not very smart, just like the creators of it

What am I supposed to do, waste my time killing Rik Reverb again? I get absolutely nothing for staying.

The game put me into this position by backfilling me when I queued. I’m effectively being pushed for backfilling.

the system as it is encourages you to help the lfr finish 2nd boss, so then less people will be in your footsteps and also have to do 2, then re-queue for 1. Don’t be a step-dad, be the dad that steps up

It did and it didn’t, sometimes the lfr groups fall apart because the tanks left over not getting a trinket. Now all those people have a first boss kill, but not second, and are in the exact same situation in their next lfr queue (the situation being not being able to loot one of the bosses and having to waste time).

The real issue is backfilling. The OP would have never been in his situation of he didn’t get back filled into a 1/2 group. People whose lfr groups fell apart after 1 wipe or people leaving won’t be stuck hoping for a back fill to get the second.

Giving an option to queue for new groups only would be nice, it might take longer but at least you wouldn’t be stuck?

Idk just rambling. This is why I rarely do LFR these days, Delves really freed me.

You may be finished with the dungeon, but the others are not. I still believe the deserter debuff should apply here.

This is spam at this point. They are not going to change it as it is working as intended. Just do not leave content until finished. If not eat the penalty. We do not need to see your spam threads about it constantly.

Oh ya. This just happened to me. WTHeck Blizz. So I have to stick around to not get loot on a second boss that I have to kill again? Or hey, put up a warning that says I’m going to get the debuff because then I could have at least made the choice to stick around or not.

And reading some of the replies here… don’t put trinkets that everyone needs on first bosses of dungeons. JFC.

Fix it? You are what is broke mate. It’s group content not you content.

I prefer the old way where you could leave after you cleared a boss.

It seemed like a reasonable way to do LFR.

and yet here you are…

but then almost everyone ends up having to wait in queue twice, for each wing

You can thank Blizzard for being too stubborn and bull-headed to just move a trinket to a different loot table in S1 and instead opting to create the permanent problem of punishing LFR fillers with debuffs.

Deserter debuff ftw!

Sounds like you completed everything you needed to in LFR and don’t need to queue again anyway.

What’s the problem?

There’s a second wing open now that you can’t queue for. Or you know, if you wanted to do dungeons or timewalking.
