This was revealed forever ago, but no one made a thread about it:
Derek is getting an updated model, a human looking one just like Nathanos.
Has anyone thought of the implications of this? I see two possible outcomes:
Derek does end up becoming Lightforged and the Lightforged Undead race uses human models (kind of like DK human models).
The second outcome could be Derek does not become Lightforged, but somehow ends up joining the Horde and thereby ushering in a new Forsaken Model option of looking like an undead human and the Alliance counterpart would be the Lightforged Undead with the Forsaken Models.
I sincerely hope they go with option two. If the Lightforged Undead allied race look like humans, the concept will be the absolute trash that this forum has pegged it as.
I can’t see Derek getting this unique model and then reverting to a forsaken model that’s been Lightforged.
Do you think Derek’s model gives us any clues about the future of the story?
He probably got a new model because he is planned for some sort of cinematic or event.
Just like Lorthemar.
Seems like Blizzard is interested in overhauling all the important characters with unique models and costumes which is really great from a narrative perspective but I wouldnt look far too much into it.
Can we just have our forsaken characters look like forsaken. Why is it all the major forsaken characters other then voss get these models that look like a living race with a paler skintone?
Love the Lor’themar model, not big on the Derek model.
But … if this is the case, I’d love to see a custom Gazlowe model. He’s one of the most important Goblins to the Horde, and if anyone should replace Gallywix it should be him. Rokhan is also long overdue for one (as is the Council of Three Hammers).
i still can’t realize people wanting a “lightforged undead playable race”
no matter how i look this sound so damn stupid, maybe its just updated model for normal undeads, or you know, nothing, and just a npc model different like we always have
All I know for certain right now is, looking at his model, I REALLY want more, ‘Tales of Monkey Island,’ references in BFA. References to that game are CRIMINALLY under-used right now.
LePuke (Spirit-Zombie Privateer), could be a rare encounter that drops a grey quality item, a book titled, “Secrets of Lemur Island,” and the flavor text is, “the text has been waterlogged and is illegible, but maybe if you had a crowbar…” Heck, that could be a fun Secrets thing, even if it goes nowhere.
Also, I want to see a Kul Tiran Female in a hut in Nazmir with Blood Troll Matron customizations called, “The Hoodoo Lady,” who will, once-per-day, tell your Fortune like Sage from the Darkmoon Faire.
