Derek Proudmoore Chillin in Brill

Probably a lot of you have done the new Forsaken quest with Calia in Lorderon. But did any of you notice when going to talk to her Derek Proudmoore is in Brill. Why???

Name someone who has more harm done to them by the Horde than Derek in BFA. He died like 20 years ago fighting the Horde. He was fished up so many years later by the Horde, Raised into undeath by the Horde and then even tortured by the Horde. Then as the icing on the cake he was used as bait by the Horde to get at his last living family members.

Why would he be associating with the Horde at all, shouldn’t he have some burning hatred for this? Will the Alliance or his family not take him back?

I seen some people trying to ship Calia and Lillian Voss, but are Calia and Derek a thing?

Because Baine saved him? And Sylvanas is gone.

We already got enough Proudmoores and, to be frank, he’s gone a bit “fragrant” in his undead state. Y’all can have him.

Wasn’t there some dialogue between him & Calia in BFA, where she was helping him deal with things? Probably he’s with her.

I thought there was an alliance quest on this in BFA as to why he went with Calia. He really doesn’t belong with the Alliance in his current state.

I swear, they should lead up to having an Alliance Forsaken race led by Derek with Calia on the Horde side at this point.

Blizzard. They retcon’d him.

But why with the Horde, that’s what gets me. Calia I understand 100%

He’s Undead - save for the Death Knights, that’s a no no when it comes to the Alliance.

Also he has a thing for Calia, which… I mean, okay.

In any case, no corpse should survive 20 years under water, so looking for sense in his actions when his very existence has none is a lost cause.

He has new robot programming. In fact, we all got new programming from ZM. Everyone is friends. Cows and gnomes and even undead worgen paladins. It’s great.

Derek can feel safe there

Where would you suggest? We don’t have a third faction. Better he should be with his race than the ostracization he’d get on the Alliance side.

He does look to be in pretty on shape for sitting at the bottom of the ocean for 20 years.

He’s associating with the Forsaken, not the Horde.

Also people shipping dead people is weird

The undead are fake. The living are fake. They would have fake relations. Just words on a page.

I doubt someone that ship undead characters would have relations with a corpse IRL.

Blizzard storytelling has been pants-on-head for years now. Trying to make sense of it will just raise your blood pressure and leave you with more questions than answers.

At least Derek can have a reason as the Kul’tirans would fear him (reaction to Zelling encountering his family), the Night Elves risen into Dark Rangers join Sylvanas willingly for nothing explained later.

edit: To be fair, we had to wait to understand the mystery of Sylvanas which affected much of BfA.

Undeath really messes up your world view.

Talk to him and he explains.

The Horde he fought and the Horde today are different entities. That’s like saying Alliance is racist because Garithos was, even though he was never part of the current Alliance at any point. Sylvanas is the one who fished him up and did all those evil things, not necessarily the Horde as a whole.
