At all. Why in the world does a depleted key give more score than a timed key 1 level below???
Depleted keys also shouldn’t drop any gear nor counts towards weekly vaults.

It should give less yeah.
But it should give something to encourage folks to finish… or whatever. IDC
I agree, get rid of that grey trash.
If you deplete a key by a single second you were easily going to time the one below it.
The amount of rating you get for a deplete rapidly deminishes the more over time you go.
Op sounds like he wants people to leave keys after a single wipe because we all know that’s what would be the consequence of his well thought out plan.
Pretty much would guarantee everyone abandoning keys they know will fail.
What are you talking about? In the past keys needed to be +2 levels higher to give more score when untimed. Now with the bonus score for keys above +15 even keys only 1 higher shows up as highest scoring run. It wouldn’t change the frequency of players leaving because both involve a failed key to begin with.
What I’m saying is that when you remove incentives to finish the key, people will no longer finish a run that they predict will not meet the timer.
Do you also think people will stay in keys that dont meet the timer if you take away gear drops altogether?
Incentives? You still get end-of-dungeon drops and Vault.
That’s not what OP is saying though. Score =/= Gear.
This becomes less of an incentive as the season goes on.
Do you deny that improving score is an incentive to finish a key even if it isnt timed?
Red =/= blue, but they’re both colors…
It does naturally anyway. Players who push higher keys care about timing keys. They would leave at the same rate too.
It’s a .1 score increase, I hope you realize that. I would rather it continue to show the 1 key level below that was timed instead.
Please show the calculations blizzard uses because I’ve gotten more than a .1 increase for a failed key.
I think there should at least be some incentive to actually finish the dungeon instead of the entire party disappearing into a puff of smoke the moment it’s clear you won’t time. Especially if you’re close to the end of the dungeon may as well finish it out.
You can look at my run history. It might not always be .1, but my point was that the score increase is so insignificant.
Academy +17: 20.782 seconds overtime 143.9 points.
Academy +16: 4 minutes 40.503 seconds undertime 143.8 points.
Academy +17: 5 minutes 18.627 seconds undertime 151.1 points.
Well that is one way to triple the “bailing” rate on mythic+ runs. The second there is even a doubt about timing it, people would just leave as in your system there would be zero incentive to actually stay and possible waste their time any further.
Thanks for being wrong!
You really do want the game to die.
I disagree!
The reason failed keys give score is because experience is experience. Yes, you didn’t succeed, but you at the very least know what to expect in the future, and can improve on that score the next time around.
This just seems spiteful, more than anything else.
you have a lil m+ score competition with your friend and you wanna cheese it? easy just fail all your keys 1 lvl higher than what hes got successfully done
its a bit silly yeah. i agree no points for failed keys would make sense.
“Mythic+ sucks let’s make it even worse”
