Demoralized as Alliance

I’m finding it harder every patch to stay Alliance. I really like the Alliance in almost every aspect but the player base. It’s becoming exceedingly difficult finding capable players to push PVE and PVP content. Even random BGs are a headache.
I like my friends and guild a lot, and I don’t really know too many people Horde side, but I’m frankly getting a bit fed up. I know there are others who feel this way, and I really don’t want to transfer but this is genuinely hampering my enjoyment of the game.
I’d like some advice on what I should do.

Alliance will always be there…mayb

Guessing here but that seems to be the ethos behind this alleged faction shake-up. If the races all get reassigned to different factions that aren’t the Horde v. Alliance then maybe there will be some balance.

I personally never want to be on the team that always wins because it means you, as a player, aren’t as good. You don’t have to work as hard, you don’t have to think as quickly, and you don’t value your wins. Going down this path occasionally sucks but at the end of the day your character (as in personal character) is worth a lot more.

What’s the point of playing Horde on a horde favored server? That you get to pretend your wins matter? It’s a joke. And no one thinks those players are as good.

A Night Elf jump, then a flip, then a bounce.
A gnome head snap and a yell into battle.

That’s all the Alliance has to do to be awesome.

I wouldn’t say an always winning team = not as good. I don’t quite understand what you mean by that. If you mean by sheer numbers alone being able to carry people, then yes I agree. One of the appeals of Alliance to me is that when I am able to push content, I feel a bit rewarded knowing I played on the side that’s disadvantaged, but I’m reaching a point of frustration.
When my guild wants to do high level keys but need to pug people, we can barely find anyone able to do it, so we have our keys ruined when we can’t muster up a full guild group. It’s frustrating, and it seems like checking io doesn’t help either, yet some people who main Horde that are in our guild are just having the easiest times pushing content and finding people capable of doing it just because there are more people actually interested in doing that content Horde side.

You’re playing “World of Hordecraft”.

From what you described it sounds like it’s past time to swap to the winning faction. Go Horde!

I’m going to tell you this, epic bgs pugs actually favor you guys, us Horde have the option to join you guys in the Alliance for extra honor, and I can tell you, most of the players in epic bgs on your faction are probably Horde players playing mercenary mode.

I feel like the alliance has a body dysmorpia problem

They are fine yet feel as if they are the perpetual losers, constantly losing and never proud of any accomplishments

Always hiding from a challenge or pvp

Really a drag on fun tbh

It’s honestly the natural appeal of each faction

Horde tends to draw the more hardcore and comptitive crowd. The perception that the horde has better pve/pvp has drawn people who want more of that experience.

Alliance tends to draw more Role playing and casual play styles. There are skilled players on alliance… but as it gets more scarce to get to that end game content then they will either un-sub or go horde.

This would be pretty horrific for anyone with a lot of alts on one faction, or for some types of gold farmers.

If anything, I can see them going the ESO route and deleting the faction barriers for all types of content EXCEPT PvP. But that’s about it.

What you say seems to be pretty on point about the factions. I rather just stay Alliance because I prefer it, feel at home in the cities, and love Night Elves, but the playerbase mindset of it is really hampering my enjoyment.

They must be trolling the bgs I’ve been in then because a majority of them don’t seem to know what they are doing. lol

Same here, I’ve tried to play horde, I just don’t enjoy it. I’d have a hard time switching too.

Boralus is amazing… plus being a creature of habit, the other cities are what iam used to.

Night elves are the best.

I have one max level Horde toon that I wanted to get the Horde content done on but I genuinely struggled to get into it. Maybe it’s because that character is a Paladin and I’m not as into playing that class, but whatever the case is, there just seems to be a barrier that doesn’t feel “right” to me. However, with recent events, I’ll probably just level another toon, maybe a mage or another DH, and try out Horde again through either one of those. I have pathfinder so it’s not going to be as bad I think.

Which one? More horses? More placebo races? More jokes like ‘if you want something, go to the Horde’ being told by devs?

Yes of course! How not to be proud of it all!
Honestly, only continues in the alliance, who has stopped caring about something that has no solution!

In the not too distant future, we may have NPCs acting as alliance and all players will be in the horde

Maybe in 9.0 I’ll boost a horde… but I cannot do the zandalari zones… it’s too much Disney.

I actually like the horses we have, but we do have one too many. The gryphons are also a joke since they don’t even have the same effort put into their decorations like the horses do.
I feel like the only point of staying Alliance is if you frankly don’t give a damn about pushing content or rp. I enjoy rp and pushing content, hence why I’ve stayed Alliance but I don’t know if the RP is worth it any more if the playerbase is giving me such a headache in actual game content. . .

If you want to play with good player that aren’t constantly whining about bias, the horde is waiting for you.
