If you had to bring one of these specs to your group, which would you choose and why?
If one is a gnome, I want that person in the group. If both are gnomes, I will invite both. If there is no room, I will leave and invite both the gnomes. If neither are gnomes, I will invite neither. All DPS should be gnomes. If tanks and healers are gnomes, that is a plus.

Tough call.
Demonology locks are just shells of their former glory
And Shadow Priests are stuck looking hideous with their shadowform.
I would choose a Shadow priest, especially if Draenei or Lightforged Draenei.
Draenei cannot be warlock so it is an unplayable class. Also demonology will need ramp time generally but shadow isn’t as bad anymore.
I would always pick the priest. There is nothing two warlocks can do that one warlock alone can’t.
If the player is good, demo.
If the player is bad, a bad shadow is better than a bad demo.

There is basically no circumstance where you should ever invite a shadow priest to a dungeon group.
Every group I make aims for:
- Tank
- Heals
- short interrupt besides tank (typically melee)
- heroism
- battle rez
Shadow priest is the only dps in the game that brings absolutely nothing towards improving the group, except perhaps in very high level keys where the degenerate nature of PI has them PI botting some stronger dps.
To even consider inviting shadow, you need to have lucked out ahead of time with something like a DK, shaman or resto/guardian.
Tldr, be a warlock if those are your only choices.

I mean, this is demonstrably false. The top demo logs are all with triple PI. The highest non PI guardian logs are Sub rogues and Venthyr moonkin, both of which have rotations that are much more practical to pull off then the fiasco that is demo demonic tyrant setup.
Why would you not include PI when every raid has access to PI?
If those classes could do higher STDPS with PI, they would get PI
(Venthyr Moonkin does have a higher ST burst with PI but obviously does not sustain higher over the same time period unless the fight ends right after their usage)
Not sure if you’ve seen how many Venthyr Boomkin casualties there have been this tier when they’re running CD’s.
