Dying to a WW with 28k hp as a 36-37k demo is pretty much the nail in the coffin for me. I played the best I could. It’s over.
Five more days left on my sub. Feels good tbh.
The worst I think is most Warlocks I know have abandoned the class in total, some went Afflic, most switched to Mage and Druid, and one I know off went Shadow Priest…but I’ll be honest most just eventually quit even after swapping as they hate it.
Here I am now only Lock in my guild stubborn and continue to play Demonology struggling to compete in dps with Hunters/Mages/Druids and Priests that are 10 ilvls under me.
Keep going brother I stopped 3 weeks ago.
Is not just demonology, the 3 warlocks specs are bad for the game content, being affliction the only good for raiding. For pvp and m+ blizzard keep warlocks in trash state.
One more month for me and I know for a fact I will not come back to WoW if they do not rework Demo lock. I do not care if it’s too late to rework it they’ve been using that excuse for 3 expansions now.
Ya it’s actually so insane how they felt the need to rework Shadow priest but not Demonology, which was 100% the worst spec in BfA as a whole. It was and still is completely inviable in high end PvP. Almost entirely useless in M+. Only works in raids and even then struggles severely in fights with heavy movement and multiple transition phases. Just revert it back to WoD. It would be a way easier job then trying to get this current design to work. WoD Demo was viable in all forms of content and would still fit a completely unique playstyle. Demo meta is definitely different enough visually and mechanically from DH they just have to rename it and they can coexist perfectly. At the very least I would like to see the spec shift more towards summoning 1 or 2 powerful demons and empowering them and interacting with them as much as possible rather than summoning little imps and dogs and having 0 meaningful interaction with them. Having to run through a 10 second long cookie cutter ramp rotation to set up our burst just for it to be in an unreliable and stupid NPC that you just cast and forget is really clunky. Also would rather Tyrant be a Doomguard. Doomguards are cooler and thematically fit the spec better.
I must say, I’m pleasantly surprised Blizzard is looking at addressing overperforming specs and trying to get all specs closer in performance, major kudos. I stand by my comments here about overperforming specs, the nerf to MR will definitely help to balance the 3 locks specs. I suspect we’ll see some nerfs to specific legendary items soon as well for the remaining outliers.
in raid setting yes.
i disagree with the nerf overall however as while the buff to st is a good idea as you said but also around the correct amount imo.
buuuuuut it’s also a nerf to aoe dmg for aff and it hits even harder there. considering that aff is already weak there i wish they had buffed dots to compensate for that dmg loss a little. it’d also get aff that much closer to being rot again.
bringing the 3 specs closer together is great. bringing them closer together in raid and driving them further apart in m+ is less so.

Demo showing at #9, so not too shabby. Even Destro is #15, so just subpar and no longer in the toilet (hey, it’s an improvement). Obviously for Mythic Raids only, but good luck changing the meta in M+ with any speed even if locks were buffed through the roof.
It’s skewed cus of PI lol, check heroic.
The 3 thing I want:
1- Instant cast Tyrant! (tired of seeing my imps despawn in the middle of the cast!)
2- Shadowbolt base cast time of 1.5sec instead of 2
3- Imps need to last a minimum of 12 or 15sec, I know that imps are only staying up until they done casting X number of firebolt (or up to like 30sec if they are not done casting) but not having a reliable way to know when they gonna despawn make it unnecessary harder to do the proper build up for Tyrant!
