[Demonology] Is Corruption Worth Casting at All?

I’m testing out Demonology for both PvP and PvE, but mostly the former.

I noticed that Corruption has a cast time, does less damage than shadow bolt, doesn’t charge soul shards or other resources.

Is this ability worth casting at all?

The only reason I see it being cast is against Rogues to prevent them from cloaking.

It is not.

Nope, Corruption is a dead talent to both Demonology and Destruction Warlocks.
Although it’s baseline, it’s only used by Affliction past level 10.

It would be worth casting if it was at least instant cast for things like preventing rogue/druid restealth. I honestly don’t know why blizzard continues to ignore the spell entirely outside of affliction.

Yea, I think Corruption should be instant cast for Demonology for PvP.

While playing as Demonology PvP, I struggle to get some casts off as there are too many hard casts for all its summons.

Adding 1 instant DoT could help just a bit. Maybe let it have a small chance of generating resources or demonic cores too (1 proc per min seems nice for PvP).

I think it’s due to Corruption not really fitting into the fantasy of either Demonology nor Destruction. Demo, however, does have Doom (if you talent into it).

This here is the only reason it would even be on your bar as a demo/destro lock. Destro might not even need it because they have their own dot.

I haven’t found a need for it. I removed it from my action bars. It takes up my rotation for more important things.

If I wanted to be concerned about dots, I’ll be affliction.
