Demonic Grace bug

Wierd bug that appears to be affecting Demonic Grace (warlock rune).

Sometimes, it just refuses to activate. I have noticed that in these scenarios, my pet has died during the boss fight due to some aoe or whatever.

Does this spell require an active pet? Because it does not say it requires an active pet.

I’ve resorted to just not using it in favor of incinerate at this point because I cannot rely on it as a tank cooldown if it requires my pet to be alive.

It literally says you and your pet… which then implies that pet needs to be active or alive to use the ability. In any case it’s best for tank over a 2 second cast that will be pushed back if you’re an actual tank

Only reason you wouldn’t be using incinerate is that you haven’t picked up the incinerate rune yet. Otherwise you always use it.

Demonic grace is a trash rune. Why are you using it?

It gives 30% dodge and crit for threat…

for 4.5 seconds every 20. It’s trash.

you’re much better off using incinerate as a lock tank

pull with it, then drop lake of fire and spam searing pain for big threat and damage

I use it for 30% dodge on Lorgus Jett because that mofo hits like a truck, and i don’t trust pug healers.

No, it does not. It says that both my pet and I will gain the buff, not that it will not activate without an active pet.

On some of the more bursty bosses like Lorgus Jett and Akumai, it has been the difference between living and dying for me when solo-tanking pugs.

In a perfect world where I trust my healers, you are right.

For pure threat, this is the best way, I agree.

“This rune is bugged”
“just dont use the rune, it sucks anyways” is not really a good response when the main problem is that IT DOES NOT WORK AS IT STATES IN THE TOOLTIP

Then your groups are trash.

puggers be pugging.

does not change the fact that the rune is not working as I believe it was intended to work.

I was super bummed about demonic grace not working the way i thought it would. classic blizzard wording tooltips poorly tbh

I think it’s worth noting that the more damage you do the less your healers have to heal you as well, you can carry pugs as a lock tank for sure

It works exactly as intended. It’s your perception that’s the issue here.

if it were working as intended then the ability would be greyed out while you didn’t have an active pet. I don’t think it’s bugged, the tooltip just kinda sucks

I don’t think you know that for sure. Neither do I, for that matter, but it feels like a bug when a tank cooldown cannot be activated due to an extraneous condition (pet being dead / not active)

I can confirm that the ability is not greyed out, and it can be ‘activated’ but it errors with ‘you have no active pet’ or something to that affect. I believe this is a bug either in the tooltip or in the activation. (my assumption is that it is a bug in activation where it tries to buff your pet first and fails)

Are you high? You literally answered your own question… it says you and your pet… WHICH MEANS BOTH NEED TO BE TRUE…

It’s like a bm hunter trying to cast bestial wrath without a pet…

How much more clear do it need to be

No, it does not. Stop getting angry because of your own assumptions about the english language.

Meh I’ve tank with both… dodging a poison or a sunder or a windfury vs a cast that’s useful before a fight but then gets push back for 6 seconds it’s kinda hard to compare…

I mean your main threat is searing pain anyways that literally says in the tooltip cause a large amount of threat

But on the flip side it’s a filler if you don’t want to spam 1 ability… I guess

It’s not about English language you smooth brained lunatic it’s how the game works…

If (input scenario is true)
then (spell) will cast
If (input scenario is false)
Then (spell) error

It’s 101 dude… get off your egotistical behavior or stop posting your L online and make yourself look like a bafoon

Surge with fel energy, increasing your pet’s and your own dodge chance by 30%, and your chance to critically strike with all attacks by 30%. Lasts 6 sec.

Nothing about that implies that it will fail without a pet active. Obviously, I would not expect it to buff the pet if the pet was not active or dead, but it should still buff the warlock OR it should state in the tooltip “Requires an active pet” to make it clear.

Inflammatory remarks are not appreciated.

No ego here. The only ego I’m seeing is the person throwing around inflammatory remarks because they can’t handle being incorrect.

Refer back to my previous post about how bestial wrath works for hunter.its literally the same concept and tooltip. obviously reading isn’t your strong subject…
Yet somehow you think cuz someone called you out that its working as attended with the right tooltip that literally says “you and your pet” is instantly wrong… yet the person knows exactly how it works is trying to explain it to you at a kindergarten level so it’s easy for you understand. And you say there’s no ego… okay dude take a step back. I think you been on the Internet for too long today
