The Wardens let them out because the Legion was invading Azeroth and Wardens can’t fight.
Now the Legion is defeated. Demon Hunters should serve the rest of their life sentences now.
It’s the right thing to do. Justice must be served.

Yeah, but DKs weren’t released from prison to fight the Lich King. They just did what they wanted.
Demon Hunters were released from prison to fight the Legion. Now there’s no more Legion to fight. Back to prison they should go

Poking their eyes out was the first step I’d say…they also got runes placed upon their body and used to contain a demon soul within their own flesh… are they even people anymore is anyone’s guess. Technically sacrificing everything isn’t true as they’re still alive… unless the demon hunter is saying they’re a flesh puppet harboring a demon soul but that…gets complicated in itself. For some of the blood elven DH they lost everything already and desired vengeance and Kael’thas referred them to Illidan or they found their way to him hoping to get the power to do that. Selfish desires may or may not of ended with many of said DH losing their lives as the demon takes over and are then struck down but yeah…very…very dangerous path. The idea only elves can do it seems crazy though as it’s more like they’re the only ones crazy enough to have tried such a path up til now

Like, they enslaved some Broken tribes, tried to genocide other Broken tribes, they tried to steal all the water from the planet to blackmail the entire population of Outland, etc.
