When illidian attacked a group of adventures in his novel, he went after the warrior first because he saw all the enchantment on his armor and the magic just radiating off of him. So he went in and slice the warriors neck and he saw the enchant working its magic on the warrior. The blood starting to flow back into the warriors neck and the neck started to rabidly heal and the warrior bodies illidian in retaliation.
The fact that he’s a trained mage may have had something to do with it.
I have eyes that have better optical vision than most of the animal kingdom. That doesn’t mean that I have the innate knowledge to build lasers. Or even grind glass into a telescope.
but being able to see the individual particles of a laser beam would make it significantly easier to understand how they work and then learn how to build one, right?
I never stated you have innate knowledge, all I stated was that they can see the enchantment and magical aura around the equipment. They literally can also see leylines with their eyes.
But again, like you said, just because they can see it doesn’t mean they understand it. But that is why OP is asking if they would be better with enchanting because of their eyes, and kinda yeah. They can see how the magic moves It would be easier for them and it is part of their lore that they are good at arcane and demonic magic because of it.
I don’t see that aside from Illidan that demon hunters are nothing more than people who have decided on a path of power and just having their eyes burnt out of them and their sight changed isn’t going to make them expert enchanters.
Never stated that it would, I just stated it would make it easier for them because they literally can see how the magic works.
Again, just because you can see how it works doesn’t mean you will be an enchanter, but many of them do go into tinkering with magic because of it, which is just enchanting.
Talking about the NPCs as well. In the illdian book they go into it. Demon Hunters have a lot of magical knowledge and understanding, mostly because they have to. Now if they take that into enchanting, that is up to them, but a lot of them do know how to disenchant things because of their special abilities.
There’s a reason DH are considered a “hero class”. They aren’t normal magical users.
