Not really. Even down to ideals, this is wrong. Warlocks work with, and embrace demonic practice. They use it on an external level. They are casters. Demon hunters are the antithesis to demons entirely, do not embrace them at all, use them as nothing more than a means of fighting fire with fire, and are melee combatant.
Priests and paladins are closer to one another in that they share ideals. But essentially, all warlocks and demon hunters have in common is a utilization of the fel. A utilization of similar forms of magic does not make anyone the same.
As a wrath player who does see metamorphosis locks still…no.
DH’s at least in terms of pvp are way more annoying to deal with. I don’t go full bore pve so real raid and such I can’t comment on.
Now if lore based…also a no. Dh’s follow the plan/will of Lord Illidan. We get shanghai’d into the faction crap.
Lock lore seems to be more using fel for good. Dh’s are really jsut fel fueled psycho’s who picked a target no one cares if they die. Well except for Maiev and the wardens. The odd bit is Maiev has some issues too. She isn’t exactly sane either…
I have DH’s like the tv series dexter. You are supposed to say the dude has issues and is bad. But he kills criminals so…okay he is taking out the trash of the world.
not quite… warlocks learn how to use shadow and fel magic, summon demons and stuff.
Demon hunters were trained under a specific manner by illidan, consume the demon, develop spectral sight.
Train melee combat, kill demons, spar with others… and then abilities are developed from within because of the demon within, that gives them more physical strenght, speed, resistence… their body changes with demonic traits.
Demon hunter develop demonic abilities from within, they can consume different types of demons to keep that, the leveling demon hunter zone you do that some times and develop new abilities as result.
