Maybe roll them into a new character customization feature for DHs. Let us have the option to show them “on” at all times (and model the behavior like the dracthyr) or leave them “off” and behave as they do now.
With them “on”, we can then have a few more color / customization options that are permanent. Base the entire first few selections around the currently-available glyphs, but higher detail. With them “off” those customizations can show up when the wings manifest during Glide. Or people can still use the existing glyphs and wing behavior, if they want.
