Demon hunter tips

Hi y’all,
I’m really enjoying playing demon hunter and might make it my main along with my dk in shadowlands but I’m having a small problem. I’m used to playing dk that now I’m having trouble playing dh havoc. Can y’all please give me some tips. Also it’s late where I am so y’all might get late response from me.

If you have trouble playing havoc, wowhead has a guide

I’d hit up Icy-veins and see what they have to say about the rotation. They’ve got some pretty in-depth guides. Could also see what folks on the class forums are saying too!

Lol if you have a problem playing DH I have some concerns.

Havoc is based more on a priority system so some of it depends on talents

Sorry OP but honestly the best thing to do is reroll

There’s already too many DHs anyway please don’t be part of the issue

I have only played dk so I’m trying to understand the mechanics on this class.

Demon Hunter is pretty straight forward, mate.
It has practically no setup time, and all it’s power is consolidated to the DH, rather than debuffs.
Just basically use your abilities on cooldown in an intelligent manner and you can’t go wrong.

DH works more on a resource system, so instead of pressing different buttons you may be pressing the same button (depending on if you have enough rage fury) .

What I’d do is I’d probably get some kind of an addon like MaxDPSor HeroRotation to tell you when to press what.

Honestly you don’t really need it for Havoc but it gives a good insight as to how resource spenders work for it.

Hook up a dance dance revolution pad to your PC and just stomp around on it, you’ll probably parse in the 90th percentile.

Smash yours or your cats head on the keyboard and jump a lot

If your a visual guy check out YouTube guides there are quite a few that cover all aspects of the class and play style. GL

Not to be mean but the main concern with DH is knowing your stat priority and using Sims if you’re going for mythics, very fun but certainly straight forward rotation.

Here’s the better strategy regarding havoc dhs, it’s shared by entry level players and cutting edge dhs:

Press 11121112311121112111211123 while teleporting all over the screen and automatically selfhealing to full/dodging almost everything.

Please don’t smash your cats head on the keyboard. If you’re going to pick on someone, pick on someone your own size!

Get as many furious gaze as you can on Azerite

Outside of game you can do good things.
Do the normal, Bloodmallet for traits.

Sure the rotation may be only 4/5th of all the size of other rotations but missing 4 cat forms, but it’s pretty much the same rotation for most characters.

You use immolation aura (if taken), to pre build resources before a fight. It can be cast 1-3 seconds before a pull or outside of combat to build rage.

Blade dance is great, and gets enchanced well by the metamorphisis forms you get, damage is nice and upfront and deals well with 1-3 or 3-5 mob pulls.

Build rage, avoid overcapping. Although a pretty routine rotation it doesn’t really have a set schedule. WIth the right traits it can be a 70 inputs per minute button masher, and it plays like regen paper bags. You’re pretty durable and take damage and chip damage well. But you tend to explode to unpredicted damage so the playstyle is a bit reactive and yet feels in control.

Sim your character, Maybe once for stat weights, And then maybe once more when you get good azerite for best combos per piece/set. (With the simcraft icon you can take your gear, paste it in, and get your best personalized traits and stat weights.
