Demon Hunter one-shotting in WPvP – 21+ million damage in a single tick

I’ve been encountering a Demon Hunter in world PvP absolutely deleting players in one shot. I thought it was a fluke at first, but then it happened to me. After checking my combat log, I noticed a single tick for over 21 million damage.

This is happening consistently, I’ve seen others go down just as fast by this guy, so it doesn’t look like a one-off anomaly. Has anyone else run into this? Is this seriously intended? Because right now it feels a bit out of control.

Would love to know if other people have experienced the same, and if Blizzard is aware of it.

TL;DR: Demon Hunter in WPvP hitting for 21+ million in a single tick of damage. Seems pretty broken. Hoping for some clarification or a fix soon, this can’t be right!

Edit: The name of the ability that caused this 21+ million tick is Wounded Quarry, I have screenshots of the combat log but I can’t post links.

What lvl are they? I saw some rogue that used scaling at lvl 27 to 1 shot lvl 80’s…
Also, hey Pala!

I’ve seen the low level rogue one shots too. In this case though, the DH is level 80 and has other players supporting him. He’s one-shotting people left and right, it was wild. Definitely a different angle from a single low level rogue exploiting scaling.

And, hey Gank!

My phone has one character logged in and my computer the other, can’t change them lol. Anyway, this is Ganked.
What ability was it that they hit you with that did all that damage?
I’d also try posting in the DH forums and see if any of them know what’s up.

Oh sorry, I didn’t put it into the post, it’s Wounded Quarry.

Pro-tip: stop standing near low-level mobs or critters. It’s one of those, “percentage of damage taken from mob is replicated to target.”

Low level NPC scaling will have damage in the billions.

Yeah I figured it had something to do with low-level mobs, the guy was constantly running away from the fight into groups of low level mobs to leech health and to set up his one-shot.
