Is it an easy class to pick up? I am a little intimidated by the high level. What do you guys think?
I’d say its a lot easier than picking up a boosted character as the starting scenario for Demon Hunters introduces your main abilities over the course of the zone. Getting from 98 to 120 is plenty of time to get a good handle on everything.
The bigger issue is going to be how comfortable you are with the basic game systems. At higher levels you get a lot of content thrown at you and it can be challenging for a brand new player to figure out what they should focus on. (Oh, who am I kidding, it’s overwhelming for veteran players a lot of the time too.)

Demon hunter is super fun, especially for newer players. It’s basic rotations are very easy to understand, but still have a lot of little things that allow you to flex your skill as you get better. I’d say definitely give it a shot!

I understand where you’re coming from. Basically going 98-110 will be your learning window for your class and it will be intimidating, but from there on in you’ll get a feel for it AND be closer to endgame content than other classes, so it’s a plus really.
I found it very east to pick up. I went back and did some WoD stuff just to get used to playing it and then did Legion (this was towards the end of Legion but before BfA).
I did look at Wowhead and Icyveins for tips and watched a few videos to get an overview of playing it.
