With the first PTR build for Patch 11.2, we've datamined a lot of new battle pets! These include a variety of baby beholders, fel capybaras, lapbugs, siphonmites, and much more!
From the Fel Capybara Pet descriptions, we can gather some information about the Fel Capybara:
The dark, fel-infused fur of the duskytooth allows them to more easily hide in the forests of Felwood.
They are native to Felwood.
An especially aggressive snooter. Its unpleasant disposition makes it an outcast among other snooters.
They are generally chill, except the purple one.
Fel Snooters have a very good sense of smell. They will often immolate piles of leaves, scrap or snow to find grass and seeds.
They have a good sense of smell.
They can cast at least one Warlock spell.
They eat grass and seeds.
Of all snooters, this one has the scruffiest and warmest fur. It is a very friendly snooter but use extreme caution when petting it.
They are friendly.
Their fur is hot enough to cause burns.

I’m just wondering where those got corrupted, because as far as I know, snooters/capybaras are native to Mechagon and only Mechagon island.

If it’s anything like the chicken my IC wife found in Hallowfall, someone probably smuggled them out cause they were cute.

The green capybara lore states they are from Felwood.
Maybe Felwood had capybaras before it was corrupted, but they became Fel Capybaras and now they have magic Demon powers that make it hard to find them.

I just think it’s one of those things like in Hearthstone- there’s a lot more life/creatures in the zones than just what we see in WoW.
What we see in-game is merely a representation of what’s actually there, it is way more diverse.
