Demon Bite question

When should I use demons bite? I know if I don’t have any energy but do i use it to fill bar then annihilate, blade dance etc or do I just use it to get enough energy to use annihilate?

Use it enough to have sufficient fury to use Eyebeam and Blade Dance on cooldown, and otherwise just enough to use Chaos Strike. You don’t want to pool too much fury generally if you are running Blind Fury and Immolation Aura, because any fury over the cost of Eyebeam in the former case will be wasted, and having too much fury after using the Immolation Aura could cause you to lose fury if it caps.

ty for the reply

If you are tracking the cd of your eye beam, you can dump your fury so that you have the 35 (i think…) fury to cast eye beam as soon as it comes off cd. It takes a little practice, and there is some rng because you have a decent chance for chaos strike to refund 20 fury so sometimes 120 fury is 3 chaos strikes, and sometimes it’s like 5-6. Like Brujanna said, watch your fury generating talents/spells so that you don’t overcap fury and lose potential dps.

Essentially, Demon Bite and Chaos strike act as a filler between your Blade Dance and Eye Beam cooldowns. Demon bite to near cap, then chaos strike down. Be aware that chaos strike/annihilation is solid damage whereas DB is quite a bit lower.

No reason to pool and dump like this. The general rule of thumb is simple: if you have the fury to Chaos Strike, use Chaos Strike. If you don’t, use Demon’s Bite. The only variation to that is if you have less than 55 fury (the cost of Chaos Strike plus the cost of Blade Dance, it’s lower if you have Revolving Blades stacks) and Blade Dance is not currently off CD but will be within a GCD, because you don’t want to start Blade Dance. Since that can be difficult to judge on every single GCD, you can simply take that as the normal rule if you wish (ie. Chaos Strike at 55+ fury, DB under that). There’s not really much cost to just using that as your default rule, actually, since the only risk is going into Eye Beam with more fury than you might otherwise.

Pooling and dumping really just risks accidentally capping due to Immolation Aura or accidentally retaining too much fury going into Eye Beam.
