S tier to C tier in one patch.
Demo is going to be trash. Tyrant is literally the easiest spell to run from in the game and has so many requirements to do damage. If you kick Demonfire then you’ll never die to a Demo Warlock.

I get what you are saying. I just did some 3’s with a affliction lock buddy and it went very poorly. There is just no way affliction can survive against zug zug double melee even with peels it just gets melted… and Affliction has 0 kill pressure now. Its in a pretty bad spot.

Havent played the changes, but demo was very much playable in SL with tyrant build.
Now reign of tyranny tyrant is probably going to be doing 400-500k dmg with dogs/gfg alone, id say that aint so bad.
C tier is an omega exaggeration lol… we’re still A tier at the very least.

Yeahhh no, yesterday I was winning consistently as demo 4 out of 6 rounds easily, 6 out 6 a decent amount while applying CC and interrupting off targets. As affliction the same thing. Now, Demo can’t hardly secure a kill, and UA is an absolutely joke when dispelled. quite literally I get the highest damage in arena, but it’s all fluff ticking damage that doesn’t beat a 102k mortal strike to the face after a target swap and instant gap close. For the first time in a long time, whoever the class designer/negotiator for lock is in pvp, bro, I can do your job better than you. Take us back to yesterday please, this is aweful.

I feel significantly worse on my lock now, both demo and affliction. Haven’t tried destro yet.

Just throwing this out there. Demo still seems very strong. Im running nether portal build with tyrant and still have DS. Now I also got my 2 set today so 20% increased dmg to felstorm and demonbolt. Affy with 2 set feels strong to with the extra 12% haste.
I think everyone just needs to relax and take it easy. The class is still very strong

The destro changes are not worth noting in a pvp setting. The immolate changes buff chaos bolt indirectly by such a miniscule amount, you barely notice it.
The changes for pve were good and helpful, but can be better. Mostly bringing up our aoe potential, infernal and blasphemy aoe help a bit, but needing shorter CDs and pre reqs are still highly needed imo.
If a direct buff to Chaos Bolt by 45% would occur the spec would be in a better standing both in PvP and PvE. As it stands, too much setup and loss over hungry GCDs and longer cast times make the ability lack lucker compared to the plethora of Melee abilities being instant cast and capable of being used on the move. No Warlock should be hard casting a 2.5-3second spell and be dealing less than 60k

Not sure what happened with these changes but I just checked tyrant damage and it doesnt appear stronger at all.

All you have to do to completely shut down Demo is CC tyrant/kick Demonfire. There’s no argument against this. Demonic Strength damage is laughable an entire duration of Demonic Tyrant isn’t breaking 100k damage. I can’t speak to having 2set.
I’ve played as Affliction and Destro for 6 hours today, I haven’t seen a single Demo not doing bottom damage at 2k+ MMR. I’ve actually been stomping as Affliction/Destro.
Stop testing on PVP dummies they don’t work half the time… check in pvp on folks.

Demonfire is actually horrible in PvP. Who isn’t just CCing/interrupting Tyrant? I mean kill Demonic Tyrant in 4 globals.
Normally you lock enemies down for tyrant but its something folks have to learn.
Its basically s3 demo with more sustain atm playstyle wise.
Bad tyrants outside when they bug are a direct reflection of the demo who cast it.
The sustain damage is much worse now.
I haven’t seen much success from Demo today, I haven’t tried but it seems very inconsistent. Destro and Affliction are both more fun to me and they seem better now.

All good and yeah I had an 86K crit today with tyrant so I’m very happy with what can we done with it with good setups into ccd opponents.
Anything that’s not 100k+ seems rough for such a long CD. I’m pretty sure with the changes you’re very much forced into Nether Portal/Pitlord to get 200k Demonfires from Tyrant but the ramp is massive and easily stopped.
No, sub demons from portal don’t contribute to tyrant and if hes hitting 86K in one bolt that’s fantastic you gotta remember hes gonna bolt the target 11-13 times in his duration so at least 4-6… plus everything else in stun/coil… not horrid for a 1:30 cd.
Again its all how its used and how well u lock down the go.
If you do a poor job itll do a poor job.
