Hi, I was doing the legion questline to get my artifact weapon for my demonology warlock, and on the quest “Dark Whispers” there is a certain point where you must use demonic gateway to cross a bridge of fire. However I do not get demonic gateway until level 49 according to my spellbook. Does anyone know how I can proceed with the questline? It seems like a bug to have to wait until level 49 for just this one class to get their artifact weapon… Also, I cannot abandon this quest to get another artifact weapon from a different spec. So I am stuck.

I just found the same problem and lodged a bug report. Not that I expect that they will do anything to fix it. Well done Blizz, reworked the levelling system (which is awesome by the way!) but don’t check to see if it causes any problems.
Anyway, I’m off to level in another expansion I guess…

So, Blizzard has known about this since Jan 2021. And here I am trying to get past Mephistroth’s Barrier at level 11, without the gate spell until level 49. I tried to Goblin Glider over, use my Demon Skin (lol), sic my Minon on Mephyistroth hoping he’d follow him back over the goo to me, and lastly, I will try to run across on my mount (Lucky Yun). Care to guess how successful that will be? I’m curious what Blizzards response to my support ticket will be. Oh, by-the-way, Lucky wasn’t so lucky…) Sigh.
You should get a temporary spell in order to complete these quests. Check the right part where your quest tracker is, the spell should appear as an icon there. If it is not appearing, then there is probably an addon that is interfering with it. Do an UI reset to fix the issue.
