I’ve run the simulator for my stats and it’s coming back weird. I did a search for this and couldn’t find anything about it. Here’s the stat weight that’s coming back given my current gear:
Master: 2.34
Crit: 2.23
Int: 2.21
Vers: 2.19
Haste: 2.05
Needless to say, it seems extremely odd that haste is my lowest stat, and int just barely beasts out Vers. Is anyone else having similar issues? Is this correct? Because of my upcoming school schedule I won’t be raiding beyond LFR, and I don’t really do mythic+ because I just don’t find them fun at all. So I won’t be like super top end gearing regardless this patch. So is this actually accurate? Thanks for the help fellow Locks!
Stat weights in general aren’t a great way to measure gear. Top gear sims are much better. Regardless, Int, Agi, and Str are pretty mediocre stats for most dps, so that’s not surprising at all.
Worry about stat weights later, right now what you need is ilvl. Stat weights are best used if you’re going to target a new piece once you’re mostly done gearing.
Top gear sims for whats in your bags is good. Since you’re not going to do m+ theres no point in running droptimizer, but that would normally be the next step.
Doing mainly pvp with demon, Im just shoving vers in every thing i can, im by now with 20%
don’t know if makes any difference, or there is like a cap and im just wasting it, maybe its a dumb thing, but its what im doing, im doing good in general in world pvp but thats it, didn’t tried ranked this season yet.
This is most definitely the move. Currently sitting at 22-23% vers w/ lucid rank 3 minor for heal proc. Add r2 c&s to that and you’ve got the recipe down.
As far as a cap for pvp, no cap. Gather all the vers, my friend.
Thanks, was something that was rly bugging me off, since i was losing mastery, and i didn’t main demon since cata/mop i tough it would be bad, cause you… know mastery meaning more damage i believed it would be better
Yeah man it was bugging me too at first. The thing is, this is a weird (terrible) meta and being tankier is the move in my opinion. It’s definitely helped me quite a bit. Hell my mastery is down to like 20% now.
Losing the mastery will def hinder tyrant damage since he scales the highest off our mastery, so playing a full mastery build can definitely pay off. I just think I’m more comfortable trading off a bit of that to be able to survive goes from other teams.
One thing I realized is my tyrant can still do heavy damage as long as I set my imps up right and proc at least a 250% consumption.
One thing I have been dabbling with is running a hybrid between Big tyrant and shadowbite build. So I stack 2 baleful, 2 supreme commander, and 2 shadowbite traits (all 430 Azerite pieces), and it’s very helpful since my tyrant will still bolt Big but also the vers stacking will help my demonbolt damage with shadowbite stacks. Makes for a tad more sustain which is nice.
You definitely could go like mastery/vers (or vers/mastery) if you feel like your tyrant damage is low, I’ve found success with high haste but that’s just me.
1)stat weights are… ehh at determining dps potential. Simming is bettee and with Raidbots easier than ever.
2)demo stat weights are pretty even for most of this expansion, while haste is usually our strongest it doesn’t take as much as you may think to stack enough that crit or even vers takes over for a bit
3) demo apl is being reconstructed for 8.2 as it is not in a great place at the moment.
Mastery and versatility are straight damage % so they are going to scale better than something like haste and crit which has diminishing effects as you get more of it.
