currently lvling a lock cant decide if i should mostly main demo or destro will be doing both pvp and pve content any advice helps thanks
How serious do you intend to be with your pvp/pve goals? Is viable acceptable or do you want to be optimized for meta play?
[Side bar: the way things seem to be going we may end up with all 3 specs viable and none optimal, so don’t exclude the fun-factor as you weigh options.]

So I mainly gravitate to aff or destro, but recently have been leveling using demonology. At first it seemed that demonology was something I had been missing out on as I could nuke mobs quickly, but by level 50 or so, they were lingering a lot longer than I felt they should.
In my opinion, if you want to kill things quickly, stick with destro. Demonology is more effort (you gotta keep them imps out) and destro just seems to have more damage easily available.
I dont pvp at all, but I push decently high (2831 s1 DF) keys and do some aotc raiding.
Until you get best in slot gear for demo, destro is quite a bit better in single target. Destro is also easier to play. However destro struggles in smaller pulls (3-4 mobs) that don’t live very long because rain of fire requires some time to get churning.
Demo has a bit more aoe burst, especially if the tank is pulling quickly between packs. Demo is also not reliant on targetted effects (guillotine the exception) to do aoe damage.
For leveling, destro can play with voidwalker as a kind of tank. Demo plays felguard which is more of an arms warrior that can mostly hold threat. Both are quite efficient at leveling, as is affliction, which is also a very strong option as siphon life and drain life can be normal parts of the rotation.
All told, warlock is easy to level. Play the spec you want and have fun.
