There’s a build on beta that’s growing in popularity that has no Grimoire:Felguard. You just dump all points into a big gloomhound/charhound and send it.
Demonology has never felt smoother than when I’ve been playing this. These one-minute ramps with giant vilefiends are glory incarnate.
I really hope this build is competitive for at least one season in TWW. GFG could use a break.

I agree. GFG is left behind in the current version of the talent tree and has been relatively low impact global outside of the season 2 tier set. Fiendish Oblation has potential to fix this. However, as others have suggested, the demonic core should be generated on summon and the damage bonus needs a 3 to 4x increase.
Yup GFG is just a very weak cd in in pve. You summon it and it does some lackluster damage. Little by little that talent is just becoming pointless.

No Felguard? Interesting, I thought that pet was basically mandatory, after losing Dark Apotheosis Demonology has never felt as fun (IMO), the new hounds feel great thogh, so maybe doing this change, will finally get me to love Demo… specially after I pair it up with the Hero Talents, I think.

Just tried it in M+, mixed the spec a bit to be more AOE friendly and I relly like it. Love not having to deal with Grimoire Felguard. Hope it stays competitive numbers-wise at max level

It’s a 2 min CD that has no use anymore for pve. Basically pointless and that new talent that they created is even more useless.
So makes sense why people are figuring out is better to put points into something you get more use for overtime.
That damn talent is like 2% of overall damage or some mess like that.
Having gotten used to builds without vilefiend for the past season, it feels so clunky to stutter ramps with VF and GFG again.
It’s a gameplay loop that’s years old at this point, and keeps coming back. It served us well but this change is refreshing.
