Demo Interactions with Kevin and Infinitely Divisible Ooze

Okay, so after testing my character a couple of times and I’ve discovered that my Mastery and Tyrant Soul also affects Oozes from the trinket as well as Kevin if using Plague Deviser. After making that discovery, I’ve grown towards Demonology’s Mastery Stat even though it’s seemingly a boring Mastery.

My question now is, and this is just an experimental question (I’m pretty sure DeCon is still better): Does Ooze and Kevin contribute to the damage increase of Sacrificial Souls?

Another one: Does Tyrant consume the Ooze’s health? Considering the Trinket Ooze doesn’t have a health bar, it doesn’t and I don’t think he consumes Kevin’s health either nor extends his duration.

Does Ooze and Kevin contribute to the damage increase of Sacrificial Souls?

Actually not sure!

Does Tyrant consume the Ooze’s health?

Nope.

At least the debuff kevin applies works with our pets, making marileth quite good for single target.

Considering the game codes the summons as pets, I’d say probably yes to Sacrificial Souls buff. Because of how bad the talent is however, Consumption is better 110% of the time, every time.

Tyrant does not consume Ooze health, the trinket nor kevin. It does not extend their durations or interact with them in any other way except for the damage increase. Mastery does increase their damage though. I assume Demonic Tyrant’s buff is coded in the game as a Mastery buff even if it doesn’t say that is, which is probably why it is affecting these additional pets, and is working as intended as its yet to be changed and these same facts are true for Beastmastery Hunters using the trinket/soulbind.

Mastery is still not the best stat unfortunately. Haste increases the rate at which your summons attack and therefore more damage, and is better at doing that than Mastery is. The exception is the Ooze trinket, which always attacks 5 times no more no less no faster no slower - but Haste does increase the proc rate of the trinket itself so again better than mastery as more oozes = more damage.

The stat values remains
Haste → Mastery → Crit → Vers Single Target
Haste = Mastery? → Crit → Vers Multi-target (5+), due to Felstorm, Dog bites, Implosion etc.

That’s what I thought, the reason why I’m kind of considering Sacrificial Souls is because of the amount of imps running amok and wondering if the talent is worth taking in a niche occasions. I did say that DeCon is still better.

Okay, so I’m definitely not crazy about this.

I keep getting Mastery from the Vault giving me such as a Haste/Mast Ring and Haste/Mast Necklace from HoA. I have a Haste/Vers as Wilfred’s as I’ve always a big fan of benefit of Vers. Mastery is definitely come and go as I do get the buff everytime I fleshcraft since I’m using Plague Deviser.

It’s interesting to read that the Ooze Trinket scales both proportionately and inversely with haste. Much like Wild Imps that we all know and mostly love today.

I’ll test if any of the Oozes still affect Sacrificial Souls. It may not be a good talent but it’s worth checking into…

… For science!

Yeah you did, Consumption is just so good right now its incredibly hard to compete with.

I assume a build intentionally built toward massively buffing Demonbolt, and using the Necrolord covenant legendary in addition, could be possible. I do still doubt it beats the traditional Wilfred+Consumption, but if they’re close it can be a whatever is most fun situation.

Should be easy enough to test sac souls on a dummy, remove any extraneous sources of buffs, have no demons, check damage, proc trinket, check damage again

I tested it just now, I see no dps increase. At one point I had 3 Oozes out at once due to lucky procs and the damage of shadow bolt was still within its regular damage range. Then I summoned my felguard and continued, and saw the 4% damage increase immediately. I do not believe oozes count for Sacrificial souls, for whatever reason.

Finally I also tested the SSouls build and used the Necrolord legendary. It was… okay… damage but did not contest with consumption build in any meaningful way. It was nice seeing the guaranteed, massive 30k crits on Demonbolt though.

Yea, I tested it also and Kevin does not count for SSouls either.

Welp, that’s an even more RIP for that talent.

EDIT: Huh, but I did discover something else that’s interesting though. Kevin will attack any targets you attack. He will not switch targets immediately however and it will take time to spread your damage amp debuff to different targets as long as he exists.

A niche discovery but it seems nice for fights like Ingra Moloch. But when you swap targets, you’ll interrupt Tyrant’s Demonfire if you use it with him.
