I know people have been talking about the Demon Bolt damage. But it requires so much set up and is so telegraphed (thus easy to stop), that I’m not sure how good it will be at higher rating.
I much prefer that affliction be viable in PvP, but what are other locks thoughts on the upcoming PvP season?
I am gonna be brutally honest here.
You won’t be playing at higher rating to be concerned how it works at higher rating…or at least not for a good long time going by your history. Demonbolt works mind you and the set up is not that crazy but again not really a concern you should have.
Affliction is viable in pvp… there are currently more affliction locks 2100+ then demo or destro locks but all 3 specs are similar overall viability at the moment.
Most of your posts are about giving up or quitting.
I say all of that to say this…
If you enjoy aff play and learn aff and you can succeed with it.

That’s not cool Epicburn. He asked for opinions on the upcoming PvP season, not your opinions on how he may or may not perform. The dude is clearly struggling from his plethora of disheartened posts, but at least it seems he’s trying to figure out the class and asking for help.
Anyway Helgraves, it’s too early to figure out how the PvP season will play out yet because Blizzard is likely to introduce nerfs etc once more people acquire the 4piece bonuses and double legendaries. There will be some players who quickly shoot for 2.4k+ the first two weeks while the season is a mimic of the last and then leave their character dormant all season, but unless you’re one of those people, you’ll likely have to wait on the buffs and nerfs to release to see how the season is going to play out. Right now all we can use is theorycrafting which is highly likely to change later. I believe on the PTR our Demonbolts with double legendaries were hitting for about 95k per person…I sincerely doubt Blizzard will let us single target shot an entire team. So I’m expecting balancing to come.

White knight rides again.
I was brutally honest and I also told him what he needed to hear.
He can do it if he plays and he shouldn’t be concerned about what he perceives as “Telegraphed or Easy to stop” because he doesn’t really know. He should focus on watching higher rated players soaking in information and playing what he enjoys because all 3 will be viable.
BTW we rush glad… early so we don’t end up welfare players getting it at the very end… so we get it while its top 200-300 players so we have the rush of old % gladiator and not be a welfare case pulling a negative loss sliding in at the last moment with max inflation.

Yeah, cyber bullying is not cool. It’s a shame you feel you have the authority to bully others. Also quite arrogant of you to believe you “told him what he needed to hear.” You don’t know him nor know what he “needs.”
You mean you rush it so you don’t have to deal with the new mechanics and game play introduced.
And I know that last line was a dig at me but the joke is on you. I’m able to mess around and have a great time with friends all season and then decide to get it at the end when I want to buckle down and secure it. Meanwhile others will leave their characters dormant all season. Best part is you’ve admitted that you get “welfare Glads” in the past since you quickly push for that very reason, but now that I’m here you want to try to act like you’ve done something superior. Your ostentatious behavior is not warranted.
And for the record, the ACTUAL hardest part of any PvP season is when the new mechanics/game play release (IE in this season it will be the four piece and double legendaries), and Blizzard then has to try to figure out to balance it. It also forces the players to try to adapt and figure out how to react to the new changes. If the new gameplay favors your class, then you can easily skyrocket without effort. I had a friend last season who never played RSham, but when the Elemental Legendary was overturned, just leveled one, pushed the button, and got to 2.4k without sweat. Those time periods are the hardest (or easiest depending on which coin you’re on); not the start. Good try though

I consider all 2400 glads “welfare glads” I have old % glads as well so I am fine with saying that… its a inevitability and really has destroyed the carrot and stick for many players outside those who couldn’t have ever got it in the old system.
He hit 2.4 without sweat because 2.4 is not hard beyond maybe the first 2-3 months of any season unless something is insanely broken… it was rival if last season was the old system by the end.
Now… take back all your fake white knighting and Read what I wrote to him.
- I told him to not be concerned with what he perceived as “Telegraphed” because realistically he doesn’t have the xp to know what is or is not… also… everything in pvp is telegraphed one way or another. It is a game of weighed trades outside the occasional over the top oneshot.
- I told him Affliction locks are doing well… and if he wants to play it he should… and it is the most popular 3s spec at the moment… once double legendaries/tier is introduced that might change but he can still get rating if he desires.
- I told him to Focus on affliction and learn and that he too can succeed with it regardless of anything else I said or however he took it.
You came in here attempting to defend a post that not only answered his questions but also told him he could do it regardless.
Some people want to be told something straightforward once in a while because we were all bad at something before we were good at it and although he might have a lot of “quit” in him from his previous posts he can surely move forward.

Your posts were read before my responses.
It really seems like they weren’t… it kind of looked like you skimmed it… and went full white knight before you realized you were “Defending” a man who didn’t even post how he felt about my response.
Or maybe “Yellow” Knight? Don’t get me wrong I am all for it
All small jokes aside… please think about the fact that you have the WoW Community Council title on your name before you post inaccurate information about the class or things that might be harmful to other warlocks who don’t know any better or how you are attacking another player currently on behalf of someone who has yet to respond.
It looks bad.
I support you though.

Your hubris is bursting at the seams and it’s rather unflattering. Keep that in mind next time you try to cyber bully someone with your arrogance. You can continue to try to take your digs at me with inaccurate accusations but know they leave me unscathed. Have a good night.
Edit: I’ve gathered from your personality that you’re one of those people who feels he needs to have the last word on everything. So just an FYI I’ve stepped out of this post and wont be reviewing your next attempt of having me accept your aggression.

Go tell more people to slap /pet attack on spells while you’re at it champ.
You don’t actually do anything helpful.
Try to assist the Community a bit more.
Good night!
Edit; btw if Helgraves comes back and felt I was actually “bullying him” even tho I merely responded to his post and told him I think he can succeed as aff then I’ll feel bad about it. It’s direct but never a “Cyber Bully” bc ide never harass him about it.

same here. i raid demo and do open world stuff always with wm on, and this is what i’ve noticed:
- it’s hard as hell to keep the lego buff up with all the interrupts, stuns, needing to run, etc.
- don’t implode imps unless it’s absolutely the only dps you can get off before they despawn… any pressure’s better than no pressure while not being able to cast.
- fear only when absolutely needed to survive. the time your minions stop attacking then running/casting to reengage gimps your dps severely.
i’m sure there’s more; this is just off the top of my head.
A bit off topic here…
Any of you demos looking forward to practice tanking in metamorph again for Lich King classic?
P.S. I think they should have expanded shaman and demo loks as tanks in retail by now. Ahh well.

Epicburn has always had a weird ego considering he’s pretty mediocre at lock

You know me, mediocre epicburn.
It’s how I start most of my videos and streams out.
Sockems I notice you’re rockin this season out brother almost 2k on the hunter and the lock… Keep going and you will get Gladiator on your lock for sure this season!
Don’t tell me you already have a weird ego the second week in, while getting farmed on streams all night…

Ive lost some ive won some… doing alright…
Splay went ok at the start but we learning… MLD going far better but we doing decently… if my druids down prolly push 2.4 this weekend sometime for the conduits.
We’re like 18-7 in our last few que nights so idk if that qualifies as getting Farmed.
edit; I am not kidding about wanting you to get glad… I know you been around for a while on warlock and all 3 specs are doing decently so you can do it this season especially considering you’re already doing solid and everyone remembers their first “Gladiator” on a class so itll be memorable when you get yours.

I mean on warlock
I know you got it on Hunter in January.
It’s why I said “On a class”
I did it on both. Hence all the elite gear my lock is wearing. Nice try tho.
Only thing I was “Trying” was being nice
100% my bad… So it was Hunter in January then Warlock After that.
I mean Elite means a lotta things… that’s not gladiator etc but that was what… top 7000 or so?
You are already rank 2000 right now so you will hit it way earlier this season especially with a solid team and games etc.
