I know my traits are pretty crappy but i can’t seem to achieve anything over a 6 imp tyrant. Can anyone give me any tips for helping my dps with demo?
one thing i see is you don’t have any stacks of Baleful Invocation… that’s your best trait- on top of that, it gives 5 shards when u cast tyrant so spam HoG as much as possible… preferably at 3 stacks.
I also suck at tyrant. I can usually get 6 imps in with Grimoire and pups out, but I don’t think I’ve ever done better than that.
Baleful doesn’t help with getting imps out for demonic consumption… only helps with getting imps out afterwards. And yes, having at least 1 is nice. (I do from Friday to Monday, but I’m too cheap to reforge between raid nights.)
Not having any Baleful Invocations is really going to hinder your single target damage.
I think the best Tyrant I’ve gotten was a 17 or so imp tyrant with 650% increased damage. You really have to hope for the stars to align with Vision of Perfection and shard refund procs. Tyrants like that are fairly uncommon, in my experience.
I play the lottery with Lucid minor, soul conduit and demonic meteor trait. Sometimes you just cast HoG over and over and over and you never run out of shards.
Call dreadstalkers early in the pull. This will give you two demonic core procs to use on your first tyrant. Your tyrant should look like this, at 5 soul shards cast hand of guldan>demonbolt>hand of guldan>demonbolt than empty your soul shards with 1-2 more hands then cast your tyrant. That’s a surefire way to get a 9 imp tyrant. For subsequent tyrants just make sure to bank 2 demonic core procs when it’s about to come off cooldown.
it might not help with the first tyrant cast, but it’s for the long haul of a boss fight where it makes the difference.

Speaking to the topic hes asking about. If you wanna get bigger tyrants than you get now youll wann start stockpiling at least 2 demonic core at around 18 seconds from tyrant being off cooldown. With these cores you will setup for tyrant with a fairly basic “build to 5 shards>hog>dbolt>hog>dbolt until empty then tyrant.”
There is a little more finesse in there but nit massivly and nothing you care about if you issue is getting more than 6 imps or around 270% tyrant
Dont worry too much about grimoire or the dogs. If they get extended they do. If they dont most of your dps comes from beefy tyrants anyway
pretty much exactly as Jand said. dogs last 11 seconds, so time their expiration with tyrant coming off of CD (i am for 13s before tyrant comes off CD to allow a 2 second grace period for the core animation to travel). then hog DB hog Db hog until empty. on pull its normally okay to cast dogs ASAP and wait for those cores to go into your first tyrant
Tried working around with that suggestion was able to get a 8 tyrant but couldnt seem to hit that 9 mark you guys were talking about
9 imp tends to come once you get a DM trait as well as soul conduit + Lucid minor build. the shard refund is noticeable when it happens and that build is basically what we call casino lock lol
8 is better tho! sometimes you just get scuffed refunds and die a bit inside
Oh yea absolutely. Big tyrants come from shard refunds from conduit and lucid dream minor.
Without those and the visions procs, you’re going to have a hard time setting up without them. Visions also gives you a full HoGs worth of shards so it’s super good to game around.
Best tyrant I’ve hit is a 710%. But it’s really just about those core procs man. I like to open with setting tyrant up. But if the stars align and I get a vision proc well then it’s game over
